Spent time in labor and delivery tonight

All is ok and I have been discharged - pelvic rest until I see my doctor is my only restriction. I'm 25 weeks since I don't have a ticker. I've been having lots of Braxton hicks but over the past week I've had a few that were painful and more like I remember real contractions feeling with DS. Then today I was cramping a lot. Didn't think much if it until I went to the bathroom and noticed that I lost a part of my mucus plug. So I called the doctor's service and they called me back and said go to L&D. I have a history of preterm labor so this didn't surprise me. Only sad part was dh is out of town on a business trip and he will be gone for two more weeks. They'd try to get him home if something happened, but it takes over a day to get home from where he is, so I think that's what made me the most nervous. Anyway, I was monitored for an hour and only two contractions in time which they said was fine.

Fun fact - sex can make you lose part of your mucus plug!

How scary! Take it easy and hopefully the contractions subside and everything is alright.

@kirkette - that's so sweet of you. My parents are about 15 minutes from me and my brother is 20 minutes away. My mom met me at the hospital so I was ok there. And my dad was on call to pick DS up from his play date if I had to stay there longer. I'm very lucky they live close!

My uterus seems to have calmed down for the night - and it better stay that way! I don't want 5 weeks of bed rest like I had last time for preterm labor!

Glad everything is ok. Get done rest. Hopefully you won't have to go on a long bed rest with this baby.

How scary! I'm glad they were able to send you home quickly. Rest up and lots of water to avoid bedrest!

Glad to hear everything is ok. Longer baking is definitely required.
