In the almost 2 weeks since we've had her home, the baby has had some poo explosions. At first it was because we weren't putting the diapers far enough up her back. Now I think it's because they fit sorta loose around her legs. Either ways, it get on her clothes.
My feeling is I have to scrub the stained areas with an old toothbrush and the baby's fragrance free detergent before putting them in the washer. My husband did some scrubbing with a paper towel but her clothes came out with stains. Is there a better way?
I'm sure the baby doesn't care that her clothes are stained, but I do.
Update: I used an old toothbrush and Palmolive dish soap that has OXY in it. Worked well on the new stain and an old stain my husband had overlooked.
Honestly, I think I might have a magical washer and dryer, because I very rarely got poop stains, and DD had explosive poops almost daily. We use All free & clear (I think that's the one), and never pre-treat the stains.

This is what we use. We don't get the clothes into the washer right away though. I should go soak the one from an hour ago and get it into the wash. I think I have that Dawn + Oxy pattieice mentioned.
There is no sun here today so maybe another day for that.

Dreft spray is magical. I spray with that, then I use Free and Clear OxyClean in the wash. I use Tide Free and Clear. When I've used something other than Tide, I've had much worse luck with stains.
The sun takes out poo stains. Wash normal, dry in the sun. Through the window works, unless you have fancy windows that block UV rays.
Some people soak in oxiclean. Ain't nobody got time for scrubbing with a toothbrush.
:Y:
I was skeptical at first but the sun is amazing. We had stains that I tried to pretreat and scrub and wash multiple times, all to no avail. A few hours drying outside and they looked brand new. I don't have a clothes line, I just tossed them over some chairs.
