Fruit doesn't count and one piece of pizza or two is nutritionally appropriate for 4am in my humble opinion. If you're hungry you gotta eat! And now I'm craving mangos.
Now I'm eating a giant bowl of buttery oatmeal and it's fucking amazing. Moo.
The best thing about the first trimester for me was how freaking amazing some food combinations tasted. The rest of it sucked, but I kind of miss the intense pleasure from some kinds of food (I don't miss the intense disgust from other things).

Even though I wish I could stop eating, I feel like I eat basically all morning from when I get up at 6 until I eat lunch at noon. Breakfast at 6, snack at 8:30, snack at 10-10:30, lunch at 12. I'm usually full from lunch until dinner, but I feel like a bottomless pit until lunch! I always have something carb heavy for breakfast, then try to eat lighter for snacks - string cheese, fruit, yogurt. There's been days I wake up at 4 am and feel hungry, but I'm too lazy to get out of bed at that hour and eat - I say if your hungry, eat eat eat!!

Can you eat more fat at breakfast? Eggs, meat, nut butters? Carbs never fill me up for more than a couple of hours.

I typically have eggs on the weekends which does help curb some of the cravings, and eggs were my go to breakfast before getting pregnant, but during first tri eggs just weren't on my list of "approved foods that don't make me gag" so I ended up eating carbs for breakfast each morning and unforunately the habit has kinda stuck. I also feel like crap in the mornings because I'm so congested and coughing and sometimes vomiting so grabbing a bagel is easy. What I really need to do is prep some hard boiled eggs on the weekend so I can grab 2 and it's easy to eat. Might try that and see if I'm not as ravenous all morning long.

I completely understand this. I ate eggs for breakfast almost every day until I got pg. I don't even have MS, just a little bit of an unsettled stomach in the mornings. Eggs are not good for an unsettled stomach!
I've been hungry too in the middle of the night lately - glad to hear it's not just me.
I'm too lazy to go downstairs and my insomnia is too bad (even before getting pg) to get up and actually fully wake up enough to eat something. I think I may need to figure out something to keep next to the bed to eat. My dh will be thrilled. LOL
Apparently my hunger is less powerful than my laziness. I'm usually hungry when I wake up for my night pee, but I just ignore it and go back to bed. Sorry baby!
