before you get pregnant: acid reflux. Not so bad in itself. But unfortunately it only happens at night, so it wakes me up because I start coughing. Well, coughing turns into heaving and vomiting. All that is just too much for my bladder and I end up peeing myself. Every night for the past few weeks. Omg. So ready to be done.

That sounds terrible! Mine isn't that bad but I'm feeling the heartburn all night too. I have been taking 2 bottles of water with me to bed and find that chugging water steadily all night long can help a bit. Gaviscon has been a lifesaver for me as well. You are almost done though! Hang in there.

I drank gallons & gallons & gallons of milk. The last few weeks were the worst.. I even had it while I was in labor, WTF man! It went away immediately. I haven't had it again since she's been here. Hallelujah bc I think I have some kind of intolerance to milk.. I had it prior to pregnancy, not during, and now it's back. rawr.
Ugh, this just happened to me yesterday. I just got my recliner/rocker for the babies room and I'm goign to have Dh move it into our bedroom tonight so I can sleep in it. I have a doc appt on wednesday so hopefully they can tell me what meds to take besides tums that can help. It really is awful.

Whoa... this is actually a thing?! I started craving milk last weekend and wasn't thinking it was pregnancy-related.
Mine's been horrible since week 6. I started with Tums, then that stopped working. They told me to try Maalox, then that stopped working. This week at my appointment, they told me to try Prilosec. Yesterday I had a little reflux but nothing like I had before the Prilosec. I feel so much better on that front!!

Were you drinking milk to help with the acid reflux? I thought the proteins in milk actually made your stomach produce more acid and exacerbated reflux?
At any rate, sounds like getting her out was your ultimate cure!

I'm not 100% sure if it was acid reflux.. I called it acid throat bc my throat would burn. It went away instantly if I drank milk. The burn never went down into my chest, or felt like it was in my stomach, just in my throat.

How weird!! Glad it went away - that sounds really annoying.
I worked my way through the meds. Prilosec was the only thing that worked for me, and now at the end it still isn't cutting it. I sleep propped up on pillows so I don't throw up in the middle of the night.
I take 75mg zantac in the morning and another before bed just to keep mine under control. I have the 150 dosage to move up to later in pregnancy thank god!
No one told me that as you near the end it will start to feel like your ribs are breaking, at least that's how it was with my DD. It was so bad morphine was the suggested course of action. Thank goodness she was born a week later.

The doctor told me to take Prevacid, but I keep forgetting. Tums don't seem to work, but at least it makes the acid taste go away, so I keep those next to my bed. I don't know if drinking water helps... I'm not sure if it adds more liquid in my stomach coming up, or if it helps dilute the acid. I've tried both, neither seems to help.
I've had this pretty much since my BFP, although it's been somewhat better lately (13w now). It's such a gross feeling to bend over to get something and have your mouth suddenly fill with acid, blech.

And then my throat is sore the next morning from the acid and coughing. I hope it stays away for you!

I NEVER drank milk prior to being pregnant, ick. Plus, it gave/gives me a belly ache.. but when I pregnant, holy milk consumption. I would drink glass after glass of milk with ice!
