Everytime i look up something on the onlines about Disney, i feel i am preparing to enter a cult.
We are going next month for Princess half marathon and then five days in the park with sis, her kids and inlaws, my mom and my inlaws. (A lot ot togetherness) Sis booked a bunch of character lunches already but i am look for other faves throughout the parks (snacks, treats etc).
I have been educated about Dole Whips already...what else did you like?
I am leaning toward getting the Magical Memories pass so i don't have to deal with phone photos all the time.
i be typing from me phone. typos and grammer dont count.

Get a Dole Whip Float- pineapple dole whip with pineapple juice. Do not mess with the purity of the dole whip!
What type of food do you like? I love the Tonga Toast at the Kona Cafe. That is the only food item that I have to eat when I am at WDW.
Other restaurants that I like: Jikos, Restaurant Marrakesh, Biergarten, Victoria and Alberts.
I feel that Chef Mickeys is a waste of $$; there are better buffets on property that have better food and service.
California Grill is overrated- no issues with the food but the atmosphere was ruined years ago when parents discovered that you can see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the restaurant. Any hope of a nice, quiet, romantic dinner are non-existent because it is now overrun with kids.
Whispering Canyon Cafe is more of an experience than a place for great food. The food is average but its very entertaining. If you go there for breakfast be sure to ask for ketchup and order a soda.
Fun gourmet hot dogs on MK main street at Casey's corner. Their fries are yummy too.
The only other MK food that I like (quick food) is the taco salad at Pecos Bills back by splash mountain. (They give you a plain taco salad that you can doctor up at giant salad bars). The also have a yummy root beer slush which is amazing on a hot day.
We usually plan a lunch at AK and eat at yak & yeti. They're potstickers are good, as well as the pineapple dumpling dessert.
For nice dining we love il mulino at the swan. Flying fish on the boardwalk is excellent. I'm also partial to California grill, but mostly because I used to work there:)
Epcot- via Napoli for excellent pizzas, the wine bar in Italy (next door to tutto Italia) , Biergarten in Germany
for a snack, you can always get kids meals even if you are not a kid at heart. They're much cheaper than the adult equivalents we like the burgers at Pecos Bills.
Ditto what everyone else has said, especially about tonga toast and boma. Yum! There are also some really delicious, unique treats at the quick serve shop in Norway and some of the best fish and chips I've had anywhere in England.
'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming 'Woohoo! What a ride!' So every day is a holiday and every meal a feast."
we absolutely LOVED Ohana at the Polynesian resort. Don't go to Chef Mickey's it was gross. I have also always loved Coral Reef in Epcot.
I will say that with the photo pass, you won't get too many photos. We had it and you have to actively search out the photographers. We were there 8 nights and maybe had 25 photos from them. You don't have to pre-order the photos.

Does anyone have input on Be our Guest? Is lunch nice (I know it's quick service)? Worth it to splurge for dinner - or is the Cinderella meal more worth it? Or something different?
I want to treat my family to a nice meal to thank them for all that they do for us.

Be Our Guest lunch was yummy. No opinion on the dinner. We did Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast. It was good, but I felt like the portion was really small. The experience of eating in the castle was great, but I left hungry.

I was not impressed with the food at either place. The view from cinderellas castle was great (we were seated in front of a window and had reservations during wishes (fireworks). But not every spot in that place has a good view of that. The food portions were crazy small and quality was nothing special. Food at Be our Guest was also pretty mediocre. I would do Cali grill, jiko, flying fish, il mulino or another signature dining option. We also love the Hoop dee doo revue for a fun, casual dinner with a show. The food was pretty decent too. We always bring new-to- Disney guests there.

Thank you for the recommendations - I'll have to look up everything on this thread. It looks like Hoop de doo is similar to a restaurant they have out here at Disneyland. Since we're getting annual passes that are good at either park, we'll be sure to check that one out here in Ca!
Weird question - for those who eat at Animal Kingdom restaurants, do any of you with allergies to animals have any issues while eating there (this coming from the girl whose allergies have been raging the past couple weeks...too much pollen out here...)?

The food areas are away from the animal enclosures and Disney is fanatical about safe food prep. You really dont have any opportunity aside from special events and tours to interact with the animals (aside from the birds that steal your food!). Dining in that park would be the same as dining in any other park.
I have yet to do the Hoop De Doo revue but my parents have done it a few times and its very similar to the old Golden Horseshoe revue at Disneyland. Its on my list of things to do on my next trip to WDW.
California Grill has decent food and a great view BUT its usually packed with kids and can be noisy.
