So, I am newly pregnant and not far enough along for the doctor to see me yet. I have my annual tomorrow and plan to ask this/these exact questions but I would sleep a lot better tonight with a little more clarity. Would love for your opinions but totally understand if this makes me sound dumb or if I don't make sense.. Here we go..
This was our first cycle trying (such a blessing it happened) so I do not have very much info about when I ovulate/d every month. The few cycles before I got a positive test, my cycles were around 38/39 days. I took a test on CD40 since I hadn't started. CD1 of this cycle was Nov. 18th and I got a positive on Dec. 27th.
What would you guess or say the estimated due date is? I have googled it and have my answer just not sure how accurate it is.
You can estimate your due date as 40 weeks from the first day of your last period. When you have an ultrasound, your doctor will measure the fetus to refine the due date. Either way, it's just an estimate; only 4% of women actually deliver on their due date. www.cbsnews.com/news/pregnancy-length-may-vary-as-much-as-five-weeks/
Hang in there! I had terrible anxiety waiting for my first appointment. It's such a mindfuck, but just be good to yourself and try to eat and sleep well!
Since you know you're cycles are longer than the "typical" 28 day cycle, the due date calculator of using your first day of your last menstrual period is probably going to give you a date that is a few weeks early based on when you actually ovulated.
I love this charting stuff, so just for fun--if you actually ovulated on Dec 16 (that would have been cycle day 29, that would mean you got your positive test when you were 11 days past ovulation which is a reasonable time frame), then you're due date would be September 8. From what I've read, most women have a luteal phase that's not much longer than 16 days, so maybe the earliest you would have ovulated is on cycle day 24, Dec. 11. Then your due date would be September 3. This is all a total guess of course, since there's no way to know if you could have gotten a positive test any earlier than cycle day 40 and how long your phases are etc. Wow, I am such a nerd.

They will give you an estimated due date based on your last period and then when you go in for your first ultrasound they will adjust it based on the actual size of the embryo (very accurate in the beginning of your pregnancy). Congrats!
Given that your cycles are on the longer side, there's a good chance that your EDD based on LMP will be off (too early) by a week or more. This isn't a big deal in the long run, but it's good to keep in mind so you're not freaked out if they do an early U/S and tell you that your baby is "measuring behind" or whatever.
I have longer cycles too and it was a bit of a pain at the beginning to get them to put my correct EDD. They scheduled me for an U/S when I was barely 6 weeks and I ended up having to go back a week later because the baby's heartbeat was slow (because it had just started beating...but they thought I was 7+ weeks so they weren't expecting that).
