I'm out of the first tri tireds now, but from weeks 4-9 I felt like a walking zombie, especially at work. There were many nights where I would come home from work, fall asleep on the couch for an hour, wake up to eat, then fall back asleep on the couch. I'm still going to bed around 8:30 or 9 these days and falling asleep between 9:30 and 10, but at least I'm not in the walking zombie phase anymore.
There were days I was so tired (I also had horrible insomnia in first tri so that didn't help) that I almost wanted to cry in the afternoons at work because I didn't know if I could make it to 4:30 when I go home.
Hang in there! I have been feeling so much more like myself the past few weeks into second tri, and I almost feel like a new person! Hope you get some time with your DD this weekend!
ETA: I found it really helped to post here when I was in the grips of being so tired I didn't know if I could handle it anymore - the ladies who were further along who told me to hang in there and said it will get better in second tri helped me tremendously - and it was true. There were times I read that it gets better in second tri and each day in first tri was dragging on so much I almost didn't believe it could get better, but it did!
I had a few weeks in the first tri where I fell asleep on the couch between 7-8pm every night! I was super proud of myself if I managed to stay awake until 9pm. Ha ha, at least it passes quickly!

I am definitely right there with you. I am struggling today at work, and I have been falling asleep on the couch anywhere between 8-9 every night. My husband has taken to (affectionately) calling me a housecat, because I want to sleep all.the.time. But that and sore boobs are the only current symptoms I have right now of being pregnant, so I really shouldn't complain too much.
Those that are telling stories of it passing quickly and not existing throughout the entire pregnancy give me hope, thank you!
I was shocked in the first tri how darn tired I was ALL THE TIME! Luckily, although I'm still tired now, it is nothing compared to the first tri fatigue.
I'm slowly getting less tired, but for several weeks I took two naps a day and was still exhausted by 10pm. I'm still tired all the time, but I haven't napped in three days and have not yet collapsed, so I'm counting that as an improvement!
My tiredness got a little better in the 2nd tri, but I still do have sleepy days. Such as today, when I took a nap over my lunch break.
During the worst of the 1st tri sleepiness, I would nap at lunch, sleep a few hours after work, wake up to eat dinner, and then fall back asleep on the couch until bedtime. Lol
Hang in there - it'll get better! My only other 1st tri symptom was serious hunger and picky eating. There was one magical food a day that sounded awesome. My day wasn't made until I figured out what that food was and ate LOTS of it.
Mine hits me like a freight train at about 3:00. If I down some ice water I can usually bounce back until 8 or so. lol. I'm only 5 weeks, so we'll see if it gets worse before it gets better..

1st tri exhaustion was unreal for me. I was nearly falling asleep while teaching and I am a SUPER ACTIVE teacher. Forget the elaborate meals I used to cook and playing with the horses and dogs in the afternoon.
