My friend and I are planning a girls trip for next month. We are flying into Albuquerque but are renting a cat to explore. Any recs for lodging, attractions or restaurants in Alb or Santa Fe or surrounding areas? We are interested in culture, nature, relaxing and eating good food (I'm a vegetarian). Thanks!!
The Hotel Andaluz in Albuquerque is pretty great - it's definitely not cheap though. As for food, we have some tasty food in this state. Try Harry's Roadhouse (Santa Fe), Cervantes (Albuquerque), Slate Street (Albuquerque), Vinagrette (Albuquerque & Santa Fe) and Shogun (Albuquerque).
You might want to try 10,000 Waves in Santa Fe for relaxing. I love that place so much. You could also do Sandia Tram, Old Town in Albuquerque, the Albuquerque Museum, the Georgia O'Keefe Museum (Santa Fe) and the tourist haven of the Plaza in Santa Fe. If you have time to head up to Taos, you should try to make it. There are afew cute wineries on the way up, lots of galleries and the view from the Rio Grande Gorge is cool too. Hope you have a good time here!
If you want to skip the typical hotel experience, I'd look into Los Poblanos. It's a bit pricey, but they have amazingly yummy breakfasts which are included with the room.
I'd also look into Farm and Table Restaurant. They have a great Sunday brunch. Everything is local and most grown right there on site.
Thanks for the recommendations! 10000 waves looks awesome! We were thinking about Ojo Caliente but 10000 waves is closer and has better reviews. I can't wait for a soak and massage...
