I think H and I are going to start this weekend! At least at BRU, which is having a nice promotion on getting a gift card back for a percentage of the dollar amount of things bought of your registry (does that make any sense?). BRU isn't my fave, but is the best option back home where most of our families are. We also plan on registering at BBB.
1. How many places did you register at? Where? 2. Most fun thing to register for? 3. Least fun thing to register for? 4. How long did it take? Did you break it up into multiple trips? 5. How far along we're you? 6. How did you decide what to register for?
Feel free to add any other info you think is helpful.
1. How many places did you register at? Where? We registered at Buy Buy Baby and had a small Amazon registry as well. 2. Most fun thing to register for? Ummm...I don't know if it's actually fun, but for some reason I love the idea of baby wearing, so I liked selecting a carrier. And I also pumped about the stroller we chose - the City Mini. 3. Least fun thing to register for? I think all the stuff you need for the car seat - bases, adapters, etc. 4. How long did it take? Did you break it up into multiple trips? Lots of online research, then two very quick trips to the store. 5. How far along we're you? I was about 24 weeks, I think. 6. How did you decide what to register for? We used a combination of the Baby Bargains book, Lucie's List and advice on here/from IRL friends. Honestly, our registry was pretty small compared to many of our friends, but we hate clutter and don't want tons of unnecessary stuff. Lucie's List was the best for really helping us to understand what the true basics/necessities are.
1. How many places did you register at? Where? One, Babies R Us 2. Most fun thing to register for? Stroller? It was all sort of the same 3. Least fun thing to register for? n/a 4. How long did it take? Did you break it up into multiple trips? It took maybe 20 minutes. DH and I went together, he definitely helped move it along faster. We didn't register for much, only "necessities" - we figure people are going to buy us what they want anyway. We didn't register for any clothes. 5. How far along we're you? 20 weeks 6. How did you decide what to register for? Just walking through the store. I looked up the registry online to see reviews. I changed one or two items.
1. How many places did you register at? Where? Amazon, Buy Buy Baby, and Target 2. Most fun thing to register for? A $500 Nikon SLR camera (though it'll likely go unpurchased!). Honestly, the whole process wasn't that fun. Felt more like a "checklist" thing to do. 3. Least fun thing to register for? the basics 4. How long did it take? Did you break it up into multiple trips? We did most of it online 5. How far along we're you? approx 20 weeks 6. How did you decide what to register for? The Baby Bargains book was fantastic for registry advice! Also asking friends for advice, and reading Amazon reviews. We never added a product that didn't have stellar reviews.
1. How many places did you register at? Where? One-BRU 2. Most fun thing to register for? Hmmm. Baby carriers. And bedding. 3. Least fun thing to register for? All the bitty random bottle/solid food feeding supplies 4. How long did it take? Did you break it up into multiple trips? I think we were in there a couple of hours, and we did it in one trip. we basically started at one end of the store and worked our way around. 5. How far along we're you? 22-23 weeks I think. I would have waited another couple of weeks but we needed to get it done when J and I had a full day off together. 6. How did you decide what to register for? Talking to friends and scouring the Lucie's List site.
I really hate the BRU registry, it's very difficult to maintain online. If I could do it over, I'd skip them and just go with Target and Amazon. I wish we had a BBB here, if we had that, I probably just would have done BBB.
1. Three, target, BRU, and Amazon 2. Stroller, I'm very excited for our BOB, which arrived last night. 3. Bottles, I'm thinking about removing them. Who knows what the baby will like 4. It took maybe 1.5 hours at each store, we did it on a Saturday and Sunday back to back so I could remember what we did at the last store. However, if you just pick one brick and mortar, plan on longer at the one store. 5. 22 weeks I think? My first shower was early, so we needed to register earlier. 6. Lucie's list and talking to other moms, plus I spend a lot of time on MMM and like their recs!
1. How many places did you register at? Where? Two, BRU and BBB. 2. Most fun thing to register for? The bathtub. And our stroller system because I envisioned all the places we would visit with her in the stroller. Although I ended up purchasing it elsewhere because BRU didn't carry it and BBB wasn't offering a Black Friday discount on that brand but other places were. 3. Least fun thing to register for? Breast pumping stuff. I didn't put it on the registry before the shower because I felt like I didn't want people to know if I was going to BF or not. I added it later when we closed the registry for the discount. 4. How long did it take?Did you break it up into multiple trips? 5 trips - one at each store to open a registry, went with my husband for this one. Then returned for one at BRU, two at BBB without him. I mostly added stuff at home online because being in the store was overwhelming for me. 5. How far along we're you? Uh somewhere between 16 and 20 weeks? 6. How did you decide what to register for? Just tried to put the absolute basics on there. We don't have a lot of space so I can't have a ton of baby clutter if she doesn't need it. We have bought stuff as needed after she was born.
People bought about equal amount of stuff off each registry, but we got a significant amount of gift cards to BRU and $0 to BBB. BBB was not located near most of our guests.

1. How many places did you register at? Where? BRU only 2. Most fun thing to register for? None of it, I found it kind of boring. 3. Least fun thing to register for? bottles - I found/find it overwhelming and have changed my mind a number of times. 4. How long did it take? Did you break it up into multiple trips? I spent half an hour at BRU opening the registry then I have done everything else online. I constantly update/change items as I discover new stuff/do research. 5. How far along we're you? about 22 weeks 6. How did you decide what to register for? Baby bargains and threads I had bookmarked from MMM, plus reading reviews etc on amazon (for bottles).
1. How many places did you register at? 2 Where? Babies r Us and Snugglebugz. The second was only because Babies r Us doesn't have any cloth diapers or anything for our Uppa Baby Stroller 2. Most fun thing to register for? A really nice video monitor? The bed skirt I want? 3. Least fun thing to register for? I have no idea 4. How long did it take? An hour? Did you break it up into multiple trips? One trip to each so far, will go back to BrU one more time 5. How far along we're you? 26 weeks 6. How did you decide what to register for? I went with a friend who has a 7 month old.

I also registered at snuugle bugz for the cloth diaper stuff but their website is kind of broken at times and It got frustrating trying to update the registry. I do love that store though!
I've just started making a registry this week. I'm using Babylist so it's all online mostly from Amazon, Target and BRU. I like being able to add from anywhere. I didn't put clothes, diapers and creams on figuring that they are just a given. I've put more attention toward organization, diaper bag, etc etc
