In the 10 years I've worked here, my employer has randomly dropped my insurance due to a glitch in their paperwork on average every 2 years. They most recently did this in November. After raising hell with them (like I do every freaking time this happens), they supposedly got it straightened out by the end of November, making the insurance retroactive to when it was accidentally cancelled.
Guess who just found out that they never actually reinstated the insurance??? Turns out, at least for the time being, I haven't had insurance since November. That's ok, it's not like I'm 36 weeks pregnant, with a ton of doctors appointments in that time frame, and could technically go into labor at any point. Oh, wait....
i know I shouldn't have trusted that HR actually got everything set up correctly, but I was still getting EOBs through December, so I didn't think I needed to call the insurance company to make sure it was OK. It turns out I was only getting EOBs because HR didn't notify the insurance company that my policy was cancelled effective 11/1 until the end of December - so now all the bills that were previously paid as well as everything to come is going to be billed to me until HR gets off their ass to fix the situation.
This kid better stay put until I'm officially back on insurance (which had better be reinstated back to the day they cancelled it!)!!!
