So I'm starting to get my shopping list together for postpartum supplies I'll need when I get home. I've seen in other threads people mention a bunch of the items that are given to them in hospitals, and would hate to waste money on things that I can get for free. So for any NYC moms who delivered at NYU, what kind of postpartum swag (ie: perineal bottles, sitz baths, pads) were you given, and what did you need to buy on your own?
I delivered at NYU almost 6 years ago (but will be delivering at St. Luke's /Roosevelt this time). They gave me a sitz bath container, an inflatable donut to sit on (I tore and had stitches), meshy underwear (I just found an unused pair in my stash of maternity clothes this week), a squeeze bottle (to wash my lady parts instead of using TP) and a can of dermoplast to numb my stitched-up lady parts.
I also got to keep DD's blankie and hat, but those were mostly for sentimental value. I think they sent me home with a couple of diapers, which took us all of a few hours to use up.
