wasn't it picksthemusic that said bagged salad and fixings were awesome, especially since everyone brought carb heavy stuff?
yeah, good point. I made a roasted pear, blue cheese, walnut and mixed greens salad the other night that was super tasty (although maybe those aren't flavors everyone likes?). Trying to think of what would be good to make in a large amount (and I can see how a lot of people would do pasta)...
You know what I would think would be amazing? Uwajimaya has these really tasty fresh spring rolls over in the cold deli area - rice rappers stuffed with skinny rice noodles, pickled veg, shredded lettuce, and then shrimp or bbq beef. One-handed, tasty, and something that feels refreshing and light
If she's breastfeeding, something with protein in addition to the fresh stuff others recommended. And whatever you do don't take the leftovers with you like one of our friends did. I was nursing in the back room when they (finally, after like 3hours) left and was so so disappointed that they took the mostly full tray of food with them.

what?! that's so weird! I wasn't even on planning eating (didn't know people did that) - just stopping to see the babies for a few minutes and leaving the food (unless they wanted us to stay).
ETA: I think I'm going to do a roast chicken, mashed potatoes and the big salad I mentioned - oh! I totally forgot dessert. Maybe I'll do something simple.

Who takes the leftovers with them? That is so weird!
