Is that a thing? DS never had cradle cap as an infant, but I was messing with his hair today and noticed some build up on the crown. I should oil him up and then brush/comb it, correct?

It might be a form of dandruff. DD never really had cradle cap, and she had what I thought was shampoo buildup on her scalp, because I could kind of peel it off, and it was almost a sticky texture.
Anyway, my stylist friend told me it was dandruff, and to use a tea tree shampoo on her every other bath. That cleared it right up!
Yes, DS had it so bad that he lost chunks of hair. We ended up taking him to the dermatologist and they prescribed a special shampoo which cleared it up.
Yes. My daughter had it even after her second birthday. My husband (who does bath duty) decided to start washing her hair only once a week, and it's never happened again.

I slathered his scalp with olive oil, let it sit, and then exfoliated the heck out of it during his bath with baby shampoo and one of those newborn brushes. Did that two nights in a row and it hasn't come back!
