So what's the spiciest food I can get? Like type of cuisine and name of dish? I'm going to try this for lunch today. I'm kinda scared about heartburn though, not going to lie.
I haven't even felt a Braxton Hicks contraction yet and at my last appointment I was 0 cm. She's not coming anytime soon. But a few friends have been all "my friend ate spicy food and went in to labor 24 hours later." I should test the theory right?
Thai? Thai chilies are legit. Out local place has a Spicy Chicken Basil dish that's pretty fierce if you order it "Thai style spicy." It's basically just ground chicken with chopped onions, chilies, and basil over rice...it's delicious.

My doula says that the really important spices are Oregono and basil. People got spices and spicy confused. So I'd eat some Italian - at least lesser chance of heartburn.
So.... I don't share this often because I REALLY hate it when people share anecdotal stories as "proof". But there's this restaurant that serves an eggplant parmesan dish that they claim sends overdue mothers into labor. They published the recipe on their website, as well as stories of the "eggplant babies". I actually LIKE eggplant parmesan and bookmarked the recipe to try at the end of my pregnancy. I made it at 40 weeks and change, had it for dinner, and my water broke that night. Of course it might have happened that night anyway... but the recipe does have lots of basil, oregano, etc. And it was nice to have almost an entire pan of leftovers when we got home from the hospital.

Thank you nursecramer -- tomorrow I'll get some eggplant parm (like I need an excuse to eat something else indulgent).
I spent way too long on my feet today. I just have so much I need to finish before baby comes. Hopefully, all this activity is encouraging him to arrive in the next few days. I had a couple painful contractions while I was painting and couldn't help but think I would try to finish my projects even if I were in early labor, hehe.

Ha! I have a few friends with Scalini's babies! Are you in ATL?
No, I don't remember where I heard the story, either. The bump maybe?
We went with some friends last year on her due date. Sadly didn't work for her But they do have a whole wall of pictures of eggplant babies at the restaurant!
I had a bowl of very hot buffalo wings and a beer when I was 41 weeks! It didn't work, still pregnant a week later. I also ate entire pineapples, walked miles, did squats, bounced, jumping jacks.
