I'm 35 weeks pregnant and have a TERRIBLE sinus infection. Saw my ENT this week and I'm on a mild antibiotic, mucinex twice a day and saline nasal spray. I can't get any relief! I blow my nose and a bunch comes out but still remains completely stuffed up! I'm desperate! Anyone know any safe remedies?

I'm not at that point yet but I've had horrible sinus pain and headache all week. I can't do anything because my head hurts so bad! Hope you get relief soon!

I don't know if mine is actually an infection, but I'm just as miserable. The saline nose spray is about the only thing that helps other than drugs and keeping the humidifier on at night. The nurse at my OB office gave me a list of safe meds to take so I've been resorting to sudafed, but only when I'm truly fed up with not being able to breathe. Hope you get a break soon!
ETA: soaking a towel in super hot water and laying it over my nose helps a tiny bit, especially after using the saline. It simulates steam from a hot shower without wasting all that water.
I'm in the same hell. I finally got on antibiotics yesterday and took Benadryl last night so I could finally sleep more than 2 hours. My nostrils are scabbed over from blowing my nose so much. I really haven't found anything that totally works. When I get desperate I take my saline spray into the the shower where I enjoy 10 minutes of normal breathing.

I can't do the NetiPot because it freaks me out. I like the saline spray by arm & hammer, or Afrin makes a non medicated saline spray also. I've also used a baby medicine syringe thingy to shoot a mixture of warm salt water with a bit of baking soda (takes the sting out) up my nose. DR said that was fine, and I actually liked it best. Hope you get some relief!
