Didn't get one before getting pregnant and I am now 7-8 weeks along. Doc says it is fine to get one now (but I think I am trying to find a way out of getting one). Ever heard that you should wait till a you are X weeks along?
If your doc recommended it, I would go ahead and get it. Seems like everyone's been getting sick with the flu around here, and being pregnant would only make the recovery harder.
I just went and got it. & yes, I HATE shots! I am such a chicken. I have a lot of growing up to do in the next 9 months. Giving blood is on the list of horrible things too.. So that was fun last week lol

I can't tell how far along you are because I'm on the app but there's a lot of blood drawing in your future I nearly passed out at my first blood draw... I feel your pain.

Definitely wasn't going against.. Just not wanting to listen! & I'm right there with you on the blood draw!

Ever since I almost passed out, they make me lay down for blood draws. Ton of fun...
i'm glad you got it! as i understand it the concern with the flu in particular is the high fever it can cause which can be a major concern in pregnant women. this can have many negative effects on the baby, so it's super important.

I got the preservative-free one during during the first trimester. And I'm pretty sure it's already saved me from at least one bout of the flu.
Glad you ended up getting it. I know a lot of people don't like needles, but really in this case the alternative (potentially getting the flu while pregnant) is MUCH worse than a few seconds of needle discomfort.
I have not had the flu shot since I was a freshmen in high school, so like 12 years. At my first appt at 8 weeks they recommended I get one stating that the most common patients in the hospital during flu season are pregnant women. So my H and I decided I should get one, especially since I work with people who get sick often and leave dirty kleenexes all over their desks, YUCK! I also got the mercury free shot.
