I'm pretty sure you cannot priceline for a suite - but I would say that I always have excellent luck with priceline in Boston by following the guidelines at www.betterbidding.com.
For cheese, the best cheese shop in Boston is really in Cambridge and that would be Formaggio Kitchen. wwww.formaggiokitchen.com
In Boston, you cannot buy wine at most grocery stores so you will need to go to a liquor store where they sell beer, wine & liquor. This is a decent wine shop: www.brixwineshop.com/
Delucas or Savenors on Charles St. in Beacon Hill would have a nice selection of cheeses. There's, also, Charles St. Liquors there and Top Shelf around the corner (near vtdiamond 's husband's restaurant) for wine.

We did like Menton a lot when we went, but I think that was before Kristen took over (we went in December 2012). I liked it better than No. 9 Park, personally. I totally agree about Mistral, though; we were very underwhelmed when we went there a couple of months ago.
If you like steak, try Boston Chops (the sister restaurant to Deauxave). We were a bit thrown off when we walked in - it was a bit hipster-pretentious (with apologies to any pretentious hipsters)- but the steaks were really well seasoned and cooked perfectly. My husband has already requested that we go back there for his birthday in a couple of months.
And Craigie is also my favorite restaurant around (your sister has excellent taste so if you don't go for brunch maybe take her there for dinner.

Funny story re. Top Shelf, I was looking at our bank statements and there was a charge on DH's card every freaking day at Top Shelf. So, I asked him WTF he was buying from there every day, thinking he was up to no good. He then informed me it was a small grocery store that he uses to pick up small quantities of items he needs in the restaurant. Oops!!

Haha, that's too funny vtdiamond! My husband used to live around the corner from there when we first started dating, and that was our go-to for cheap-ish wine.
