So my dog has a cancerous tumor. I take him to the local university with a top notch doggie oncology program that is about an hour away from my home.
When we are almost there, H and I go through the drive-thru for coffee at DD and it smells like burning oil. I am like hrmm...is that our car? and why is the check engine light on?
They need to keep the dog to run some tests so we go out and look at the car and yup, it looks like oil is leaking everywhere. We find this garage online just a few miles away and call them, they take pity on us and amazingly fix my car. But only after a panicked five minutes where he thinks he can't fix it today and we have no idea how we are getting home or picking up our dog.
Thankfully it was a somewhat easy fix and only set us back $250. They guys at the garage couldn't have been nicer, it was a nice family run business (this place is kind of in the country for our area).
Tomorrow my dog needs surgery but it sounds like the prognosis is going to be good. He might not need chemo or radiation.
But I was seriously having an FML moment this afternoon.
Good thoughts for you and all the best for Doggie LoveTrains. Considering your afternoon, it seems like decent outcomes for you guys. Glad the garage was able to help and that your pup has a good prognosis.
poor Corky I hope everything is okay! How old is he?
11! I can't believe he is that old.
The oncologist said that she really thought that he has a good prognosis. They'll remove the tumor tomorrow, hopefully they will get clean margins and then they'll send it out for testing/grading. These things are very common in pugs and not known for being particularly aggressive, he has a history of them. This is his fourth surgery to remove these types of tumors since we adopted him five years ago.
YET another reason to have an efund for your pet. There goes my tax refund.
Gah your day sounds like mine! $250 must be the magic car repair amount today. MH just came back from getting mine fixed after I hit the curb to avoid an accident this am.
Big hugs for your pup! Hope you get some positive news from the vet.
