I started having sinus issues so my doctor said I could take Sudafed. I took some before bed last night and didn't have a good reaction. I was nauseous, uneasy, anxious and felt like I had restless leg syndrome, but all over. Now I am worried about the baby Has anyone else taken Sudafed while pregnant?
I have a cold, and my doctor also told me that Sudafed was fine. I haven't taken it yet but am getting ready to.
Don't worry about the baby, it's probably some weird interaction with your hormones or something. I really doubt that a med your doctor said was fine would harm the baby, especially given that you're full term. Hope you feel better soon!

I react very badly to Sudafed when not pregnant, similar to what you described. I did take it a couple of times but used the type without pseudophedrine. That actually didn't affect me the same way, so might be an option if your doctor approves.
I'm getting over a 2-week cold from hell and was trying to not take the sudafed much. So I relied heavily on saline nose spray and warm compresses, but it was nothing like taking 'good' drugs. Hope you feel better soon!
i mean if it made me feel that way i wouldn't take it again, but given how late you are in pregnancy i am sure baby is fine. besides, i doubt one dose of a dr approved med would do any lasting harm to any fetus at any stage of development.
my list has tylenol cold, dayquil/nyquil and mucinex on it. i took dayquil a few weeks ago and it helped me feel so much better so maybe try that instead?

I can't take Sudafed at night pregnant or not or I'd never sleep. It's not going to harm your baby, but it can raise your blood pressure so be careful if that's an issue. Maybe try it in the morning & use a Neti pot or sinus rinse at night?

Yeah, I did make sure not to take Sudafed at night as it keeps me up, and I've been having trouble sleeping anyway.
I took it several times this pregnancy, but I don't take it at night. I took Benadryl at night, and sudafed was a day thing. It can make anyone feel a little nauseous or anxious if they aren't used to it.

I had a similar reaction on Sudafed. It raised my blood pressure too. DD was fine, but I didn't take it more than that one dose. I think the side effects were worse than the cold.
I took Sudafed (as recommended by my OB) and had difficulty sleeping so I stopped taking it. This pregnancy has me tired all the time so not sleeping is not an option. Drinking lots of liquids, saline spray and using a humidifier at night has been helping to control my sinus symptoms. It is not the same as cold meds that I could take when not pregnant; but it does offer some comfort.
