I'm looking at very cheap tickets from Boston to the Azores on SATA and they're very tempting. However, it looks like they may be a Spirit style airline where they nickle and dime you for everything from bags to seat selection. This wouldn't prevent me from flying with them, I just want to know if I should figure in another few hundred dollars for extras.
Yes, I flew SATA to Lisbon & the Azores from Boston 2 years ago and thought they were fine. I don't remember being particularly nickel & dimed (but I rarely check bags). I do remember, however, that they had the hottest male flight attendants ever lol.
Do you have any particular recommendations for the Azores? They were never on my radar but cheap flights and very reasonable accommodations have made them a big contender for our international trip this year. I think we may just stay on Sao Miguel.
I'll keep that in mind, thanks! That's actually how I learned about the Azores in the first place. I was looking at flights to Portugal and there was a 17 hour layover in Ponta Delgada.
