Great. I'm working from home today because the roads were too icy to drive on. That's now out the window b/c our power went out. Of course, my car is in the garage, so I can't leave the house. Well, I could walk somewhere, but the wind chill is currently -14, so no.
Given Murphy's law, this should mean my water should be breaking in 3...2... Thanks to road conditions, H's drive home is at least an hour, then it would be at least another hour to the hospital.
My fingers are crossed that the power comes back on soon, and that I don't go into labor (given how absolutely done I've been feeling lately, I never thought I'd be hoping NOT to have the baby yet!)
Dang, I'm sorry. That's the worst. Bundle up. If you really have to get out, there's a cord that hangs from the opener that you can pull, so you can open the garage manually.

Thanks - since I don't want them right now, I'll send my labor vibes your way
Oh yikes! Do you have a gas furnace and/or water heater? Will your house temperature be dropping? Stay warm!
How far along are you? You have a phone right? So you COULD call 911 if you needed? Do you have anyone else you could call?
Our furnace doesn't work w/o power, so hopefully the power comes back on before it gets too cold in here. Most of our phones are cordless, but I was able to dig out one corded phone just in case my cell phone battery dies. Hope I don't need it!

I know it's not a popular opinion amongst our demographic, but it's for times like these that we have a landline and a corded phone. I'm glad you have a connection to the outside, just in case!
