What color door?

I think my house is a little boring and I'd like to add a little color. We're getting a new door that's almost the same (old one rotted). What color do you suggest?

Cute house! Honestly with the color scheme you have going, I'd pick your fave color and put it on a door. Something bright or deep would a lot.

Purple? Irish green? Orange?

You have so many options. This is a fun problem to have! And yes, it will look awesome with a non-white door.

Burgundy red, bright red or just about any deep rich color that isn't too close in time to your dark shutter color.

In that case, I vote for red or navy.

If you want to go a little more quirky, you could definitely pull off an aqua or teal color, too.

A lot of these tend toward the navy, I would keep it bright on yours because the shadow of the porch roof will make it appear darker from the street.

Oooh, those cobalt doors are pretty! I think navy would look black from the street. When the tree has leaves it is very shady on the porch.

No, I'd leave them black.  What I'm envisioning is a really bright welcoming cerulean/royal/cobalt blue door, which you would want to really stand out.  Doing the shutters that color too would be overload, especially since they are not shadowed by a porch and would seem REALLY bright.

If you had your heart set on a navy door THEN I might do the shutters too because navy and black don't tend to look good together.  Too "close but not quite," you know?  But cobalt and black is fine.

I also think a blue door would look great with yellow siding.  At our old house we had a blue door which I loved!  The color was Hampton Surf by Valspar color matched to some SW paint.
