My camera keeps giving an error message, which google tells me requires a trip back to Canon to fix. According to the Canon website, this will cost $200 as I'm outside of the warranty period. I like the camera, but it is their most basic DSLR, and I'm not sure it's worth $600+ (original price was $485). On the other hand, while I would probably replace/upgrade in a few years, I'm also not looking to invest in another expensive camera right now. It still takes pictures; I just get the error message each time and have to turn the camera off, then back on. Picture quality seems to be the same, though it does sometimes sound like the shutter is slower.
I had the very same problem. The code said it was a shutter error. I took my lens off and put it back on, and I don't think it happened again. If it did, It stopped when I switched lenses again. Hopefully that will solve your problem, too.
