It is not a MM day in the casmgn house but omg is it worth it. Window washers were here for four hours this morning, carpet and upholstery cleaner is here now, as is the garage door guy who is installing a new opener and tuning up the other one. And I am just sitting here on my iPad, relaxing.
I am totally hiring a maid next to do a deep clean. Writing checks is definitely way more my style than doing the actual work.

I completely agree! I call it oursourcing. I outsource the stuff I either hate, or don't have time to do. This includes a housecleaner and a landscaper.
We just paid a couple of high school kids to come to the house and clean all of the weeds out of our "backyard" I say that in quotes because the backyard is all dirt and woodchips with weeds. It looked like a jungle. It took them about 5 hours to do it and they took all the weeds with them when they left. Best money I ever spent!
That is practically my mantra. Leave it to the professionals.
Yup, I have totally convinced myself that all aspects of cleaning require a paid professional. Plus, I am being patriotic by stimulating the economy. If DH questions me, I will just accuse him of hating America.

I justify it by telling myself I'm hiring local small businesses. I'm getting a housekeeper as soon as the house is clean enough to have one in, which is my goal for this weekend. But lawn guy, maintenance guy, appliance guy, tree guy, etc. all are local, small businesses and I feel like I'm doing my part to get the economy back on its feet.

We don’t own a home, so it’s not quite applicable to me yet. But I do ‘outsource’ our laundry. During the same time it takes me to do the laundry (which still costs almost 75% of what it costs to get wash-and-fold) I could be out there making business calls & getting new customers. So in the long run, I’m actually gaining money
We are hiring movers to pack and move us across town next week. I amsofucking zen about this move it isn't even funny. I can already tell it will be some of the best money we ever spent.
We are major check writers. We don't do any maintenence or upkeep ourselves, short of changing the a/c filter a few times a year, basically. We hire out for pretty much everything.
Frankly, I'm a little ticked that we don't have grocery delivery here.
Hah, I wish my husband was more like you! For some reason he thinks it makes a person morally superior to do things for themselves even if they can easily afford to pay someone else. So he insists on doing things like cleaning our cars, mowing the lawn, painting, doing basic handyman repairs, ect. I'm glad that he's willing to do this stuff, don't get me wrong, but it does take up time that we could spend doing something more fun.
It was all I could do to get him to agree to hiring a cleaning person. I guess even he sees the benefit of not having to clean the bathrooms, lol.

ugh!! I SOO hear you- my husband is the same way!! Hes a super smart engineer and really handy and can fix pretty much anything. so he thinks that means he HAS to do everything himself Don't get me wrong it comes in really handy and has saved us a lot of money when we don't need to hire an emergency plumber when the sink is leaking, etc. BUT it takes him forever to do the things himsefl! he works full time so undrstandably he doesn't usually feel like working too much when he gets home at night. and the weekends we usually have something else going on... so projects just drag on. It gets rediculus and we argue about it a lot.... greanted, we've been able to save a ton of money this way- but i'm not sure all of the stress is worth it...
I know!! We're in the midst of moving and decided to hire someone to help us move the big pieces and tomorrow we're hiring someone to haul out our garbage and clean our old place. I feel so less stress knowing the cleaner is coming tomorrow.
