I'm allergic to shellfish. It's easy to avoid. The only tricky food I've dealt with in social situations is stuffed mushrooms, because you never know if they're spinach-stuffed (delicious!) or crab-stuffed (deadly!).
I'm like 90% fake vegan. I have cut most meat, fish, dairy & eggs out of my diet. But just because I think it is healthier. I'm not really concerned about the poor animals and I cheat on the regular. I have lost 9 pounds though.
Also, I can't stand chicken which I'm fully aware makes me some kind of freak.
I stick to a paleo diet for health/weight loss reasons. No grains (wheat, corn, rice, barley) No dairy No legumes (beans, peas, soy, peanuts) No added sugar No vegetable oils No added salt
I eat fruit, vegetables, lean meat (organic grass-fed is better), fish, eggs, & tree nuts like almonds, walnuts, pistachios. I also use almond & coconut milks as dairy substitutes.
I am currently undergoing testing for celiac disease and I am lactose intolerant.
ETA: In spite of this, while at a friend's house I will eat whatever, so long as it is not melon b/c I have a diagnosed allergy to that vs. a yet-undiagnosed intolerance to gluten.

I used to be extremely picky but I will try just about anything now. I don't usually eat seafood because I'm not a fan of the smell or texture, but I will usually at least try it if it's offered to me.
Low carb but I make exceptions if someone else is hosting me. Most of my friends accommodate though without my ever saying anything (not that I would).

i had a run in with crab dip recently. thankfully it only caused a minor reaction.
i'm not a picky eater, but there will be war (and possibly an ambulance) if you gloss over the contents of your food and decide for me that i just don't like the taste of shellfish.
No grapefruit (allergy) No spinach (intolerance) No significant quantity of dark leafy greens (intolerance) No feta cheese (tastes like vomit) Only limited amounts of some blue cheeses in certain situations No gluten (trial diet - it sucks, and I don't think it's making a difference)
I once went to Christmas dinner where someone served a spinach and grapefruit salad. They are the two most random things to be unable to eat, and yet someone managed to combine them!
At the moment, I can't tolerate any dairy, anything too greasy, anything too sweet (cookies, cake, etc), coffee... I'm in the process of figuring out why.
I don't ask anyone to change anything for me. We go out for pizza, I order my own, sans cheese. If there is absolutely nothing, nada for me to eat (there is usually SOMETHING), I've been known to ask for a slice of bread to make toast.
Vegetarian. And I won't a ton of other stuff, including but not limited to: fish, eggs, a lot of cheeses (goat, feta, bleu, alfredo sauces etc), peppers, beets, mushrooms, parsnips, rutabaga, sweet potato (unless drowned in butter and sugar), melons, beans, corn tortillas, white bread (except bagels, which I only eat plain, generally), plain yogurt (but all yogurts freak me out in general), and anything that just looks gross, like indian food, tofu, soy, eggplant, etc. Mainly, if it's not a carb, I probably won't eat it. The list of what I will eat is much shorter than the list of stuff I refuse to eat.
I mostly just don't like my food to touch. And while I can't think of a lot of things individually that I wouldn't happily eat, once certain foods are combined, they become inedible to me. Example: Peas and carrots Eggs and cheese
I never drink milk.
I'm also pretty fussy about meat. I have been an on again, off again vegetarian/vegan since high school. When I do eat meat, I'll only eat organic or locally raised, grass fed. I try not to make it an issue when I'm eating somewhere else, but it's completely crazy to my H's family that I won't eat anything and everything.
Vegan. But I don't consider myself picky. I like almost all foods that don't revolve around animals or their secretions.
Basically the same. Except I also have a lot of food allergies including: soy, apples, pears, carrots, kiwi, cherries, peaches, nectarines, peanuts, and some more I can't remember. Crazy thing is, as long as it's cooked/pasteurized, I can eat it! I've self diagnosed it as Oral Allergy Syndrome with an allergy to Birch pollen. I'm a freak...and I know it.

I have a lot of food allergies. Including dairy... I can't even use butter to cook with. I also can't have honey because it is a trigger for severe migraines. I am still finding everything I am allergic to. However, I don't like onions, mustard, peas, most beans, and most nuts, brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, honey dew, pears, turkey . I will eat most vegetables raw but not cooked because of texture issues. I will only use mangoes in smoothies.
I used to be. I grew up on Frito Pie and Frozen Pizza.
Now I am all about trying new stuff.
That said I am trying to keep to a low carb/paleo focused diet. So I am not eating any bread and any refined sugars. This is temporary since we are doing the BL competition here at work. I will probably work them in again after I reach my goals. (15 pounds down since June 1st)
However, if I was a guest is someones home I would be all over that cheese bread. Yum!
once certain foods are combined, they become inedible to me.
Eggs and cheese
Whaaaaaa? Cheesy scrambled eggs are the best. Eggs, chorizo, cheese, flour tortilla (::sob:: I miss you, flour tortillas!) = NOM NOM NOM.
Hash browns + meat + ham + over easy eggs on top with all that yolky goodness = NOM NOM NOM.
I loooooove eggs, and I loooooove cheese. They are a match made in heaven. Except for hard-boiled eggs. Because those are just nasty.
It's mostly the eggs. Eggs have to be just right for me to eat them. The combination with cheese makes me gaggy.
Now I love cheese. All cheese. Stinky cheese, mild cheese, soft cheese, hard cheese, cheese with blue or green bits in it, melted cheese, even American cheese on white bread. Hell, I even love that orange nacho "cheese" sauce.

People who don't really know me don't think I'm a picky eater b/c I will never make it an issue when out with a group or at someone's house. at a restaurant I can always order something and even if I'm being picky it doesn't seen like it.
I don't like red meat (but am not a vegetarian - just don't like it) not a fan of raw vegetables (crudite) - will gag on a raw tomato - but love any type of cooked tomato will eat salad - but with dressing on the side - always - I dip my fork in the dressing then into the salad. hate mayo and that includes anything similar including mustard

We are kindred spirits!
:Y: Your list reminded me that I don't like mushrooms either. I'm sure we'd be so much fun to go out to dinner with.

I used to be pretty picky as a child. I have pretty much outgrown that. There are still some foods I don't like, but I have learned to eat things I do not like while out in public, at a dinner party, etc.
I also don't think I would classify someone with a severe allergy to something as picky. If you are at a party and do not have any medical restrictions and still can not find anything to eat, you are probably picky. Try something new, you might like it. If you can't eat shellfish because it could kill you I would not expect you to eat it.
I don't eat: Vegetables Most fruits Anything spicy Mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, onions Mayo and mustard Any seafood
I've tried so many times to eat lettuce and I can't do it. It makes me gag. I nearly throw up when I find a stray piece of lettuce in my food. I wish I could just eat it. Life would be so much easier if I could eat a f-ing salad!
