I used to work with a woman (closer to my dad's age than mine) and she told me not less than 15 times that she thought my father was really good looking. I never knew how to respond and always changed the subject.
When you show people pics of your father and they mention that he's really good looking...Just a little awkward.
No joke. In college, my sorority sisters moms were the worst at oversharing re: my dad. This always seemed to happen on move in day. And my mom would be standing right. There. So gross.

Exactly! Like I don't know how to respond... It's happened more than once, too.
I never know whether to be a little sarcastic and be Like "thanks, I knew I got my beauty from somewhere"?
You can't just like agree, and be like I know, right?!?!
I usually just mumble thanks and change subject HA.
Are they phrasing it in a wierd way, like "OMG he's so hot, is he single?" From what you posted it doesn't sound creepy to me, but maybe there was more to that situation. No one has ever told me that about my dad so I can't say I know what it feels like.
I don't think that's too creepy, unless they're asking for his number or something.
I get more annoyed when people tell me I look like my dad, he adopted me and we look nothing alike, but I guess they think it's a good way to make conversation or something.
Very tangentially related, a man caught my eye at a restaurant one time because he reminded me of my dad's age, looks, dress & demeanor. It was a few months after my dad had passed away.
Um, said guy came up to me & tried to pick up on me. gross. I am still disturbed thinking about it.
LOL. I've had many people tell me this over my lifetime. It doesn't bother me though - I'm proud of my dad and I'm probably biased but I think he's good looking too ;D
I was on a date once with an older guy and the waiter thought he was my dad. Another time I was on vacation with my dad and the hotel owner thought I was his wife. I don't know which is worse.

We were shopping once and the sales girl (she looked to be about 20) was seriously macking on DH. When we were done she goes "does your daddy still want that shirt?" I wanted to ask her if she wanted my foot up her ass.

My mom has been presumed to be my dad's mom more than once. She is gray and he still has a full head of dark brown hair. Also my oldest sister has been mistaken for my dad's wife at least a few times. In all fairness my dad looks about 10-15 years younger than he is, but that still puts him at 47-52 years old.

My dad looks really young and is incredibly fit. He rides bike and has great genes. A few years ago, I was really sick and he took me to the ER. The nurse checking us in said "so this is your boyfriend?". At my wedding, H's grandma would not believe that he was my dad and kept insisting he must be my brother. When I was 22, my dad was buying some alcohol one day and got carded. Instead of showing his ID, he showed the cashier a picture of his three kids and said "the oldest is 22 and legal to drink, do you still need to card me?"
He is 53 and looks like he's probably 33. I hear a lot how young and good looking he is!
Ugh,I understand the feeling. One of my bosses danced a little too closely with my mom at my wedding four years ago. I keep in touch with him for networking purposes these days but he still loves to tease me and ask about my mom. Ick.
I think my dad is a good looking guy (or was before he got sick.) I have no problem with others thinking so as well, but the comments haven't been out there for a long time since he was born in the 30s and in his heyday had the 50s and 60s Elvis/Rick Nelson thing going on. But back in the 50s and 60s (and 70s and 80s - for his age) he was a quite good looking guy.

Ew, that is weird.
I ALWAYS get comments from people about how hot my SIL is, and even that is weird. It's like, "Yes, she's super hot. I totally married her brother just to be closer to her."
