S and I are planning to move soon, and we were talking about what to do about the kids' room (they'll be sharing a room a while longer). I originally wanted to recreate their room now (blue and green walls, with a border of pairs of baby animals), in large part because I'll be a little sad to see them leave the room we created for them before they were born. S nixed that idea right away.
This morning she got started on how she thought we should do a cars-and-princesses theme (what the...?!), and I knew I had to come up with something fast before that train ran any further off the rails. After a little googling and worrying whether we'd ever agree on something, I remembered the alphabet quilt I bought before they were conceived. I floated the idea of an alphabet-themed room and S agreed! Thank goodness!!
So, if you've happened across any neat ABC-themed stuff on your internet travels, keep us in mind! Here's the quilt we have (in blue): (from Red Envelope)

Oh cute! Have you seen the random objects as letters photos? If that made any sense, haha! You could do those with their initials, which would be even cooler if you took them yourself. I want to try to do that, I'd like to get the whole alphabet that I shoot myself.
Love those ideas! Thanks for the link to the esty shops-- I spent a good hour or so on etsy on Friday, and didn't come up with either of those (in the interest of full disclosure I should say I get sidetracked on etsy verrrry easily . The idea to do photos for their initials is GREAT-- I was going to try to do their names once, and I got totally stuck. 4 letters per kid should be more manageable.
I need to know more about the paint to fully judge the idea - like half the room pink and the other half blue? or alternating stripes? or ...?
Uh, yeah. Half pink and half blue. Preferably with a line down the middle.
I don't hate the idea of giving them their own separate "sides" of the room, but I don't want to be stuck repainting if we have to rearrange their furniture/ change who sleeps near the door/ accomodate a sudden fear of closets/ etc..
Annnnnd I think baby blue and light pink are way more "nursery-ish" than the blue and green we have on their walls now.
