Update: I bought it! I tried both the standard and toddler. Both would have worked for right now so I opted for the toddler one. My son was hesitant at first but we went to the mall after and I wore him and he likes it! I got a navy blue and green chevron one! I'm very excited! Thanks for all the help ladies.
Do any of you have a toddler tula? If so have you compared it to an ergo? I've used my ergo since my son was 3 months old (now just 2 years old) and love it. In the past few weeks he has not wanted to go in it... We are going to Disney in 3 weeks and I need a carrier. An acquaintance is selling her like new rainbow zig zag toddler tula for $180...is that a good price? Also my son is little...(34 inches just under 20 lbs) do you think the toddler will be too big? He is no longer knee to knee in my ergo. Sent from my SCH-i705 using proboards
Ooh, thanks for posting this! I've been looking at Toddler Tulas but haven't pulled the trigger yet. DS is 20 months (maybe 30-ish lbs) and still likes to be worn, but he's not fitting in the Ergo as well as he used to, so I was considering a Toddler Tula. Worth the money? Also, are the expensive ones worth it? Or they're just prettier because of the material they're made from?

Most toddler Tulas new are like $169. ETA: Regulars are $149. That price seems high.
I think he still needs a regular Tula (not a toddler), but I wouldn't spend the money if you have an Ergo already and he won't go in it.
tcu2003, which ones are you looking at? The wrap conversions are $$$$. And then the special limited designs are a bit more than the regular prices. I want a regular Tula for my youngest (3 months) but I'm hoping Paxbaby restocks the purple unicorn ones (yes I want a dorky one like that!).
ilikedonuts - it was the wrap conversion ones. I just haven't been able to wrap my brain around how a carrier is worth $500+. There's no way I could justify that to DH, so I'll probably end up with one in the $160-180 price range if we get one.
We rented a Tula Toddler through their rental program and are enjoying it right now. It's roomier than the Ergo and supports slightly differently in ways I cannot explain right now since my rugrat is running circles around me zumbaing.
I forgot they do rentals - maybe I'll try that before buying one.

When you get a chance how old is your little one? Height? Weight? I'm thinking of doing the rental then I'll know!
Good point about price...she thinks it's discontinued and that's why it was more money... but if I can get the one I really like for 169 that's better! All dependant on my son going in it lol!

I love that they do "giveaways" on their FB and give away the chance to buy a $600 wrap conversion carrier.
Thank you so much for the insight! I found a local cd shop that sells both standard add bands toddler and am going to try both on Saturday! I am not going to buy the rainbow one because I don't love the look for an extra $20 :-)
I'm glad you posted this. I've been thinking about one for DD because something about the Ergo has been bothering me since DD's last growth spurt. I can't quite figure out exactly what it is about the Ergo fit that's bugging me, but maybe I'll rent a Tula and see if we still have the issue.

I'm so jealous! My local CD shop sells all kinds of babywearing brands, but not Tula.

Ok now I want to try one! Think it's crazy to try to carry my 38 pounder in it? He has to be in the mood to be in the Ergo, I think because he feels squished. Maybe this would help?

How'd you find a place where they're sold? I don't see that as an option on their website.

I put a call out to my Facebook friends lol Sent from my SCH-i705 using proboards
For a 2 year old, I would definitely get a toddler versus a standard Tula. No question. His weight is less important than his height. The toddler is wider so he'll be able to be knee to knee. My 2.5 year old is 36.5 inches and hasn't been knee to knee in a standard in a long time. He fit in the toddler Tula at 19 months. The Ergo stopped being comfortable for us at that point. Part of it was his weight (he's a big boy), but the top of the Ergo is very low compared to the Tula. That meant that if he leaned back or to the side it became very uncomfortable for me. Because the Tula Toddler is much taller, he wasn't able to lean as much and his center of gravity was closer to my body.

jenny1980- Have you tried stalking? I've only been successful once and it was when I was stalking for someone else. :-P What's your dream WC Tula?
Oooohhhh, share your secrets!! I'm 0 for like 20 stockings now
Well, I'm only 1 for about 20 stockings, so I'm no expert but when I stock I: 1- Use our wired desktop computer for faster internet. 2- Restart the computer and close all programs/windows about 30 minutes before stocking. 3- Log in to your Tula account 4- Have your CC number copied and pasted. Memorize the expiration month/year and your security code. 5- Know exactly what you're going for and don'e hesitate for a second. I tried to a Diorite Stars last stocking and I tried to check for just a second to make sure it was a full. It was just a second, but too long.
That being said, try the Tula b/s/t page. Not all of them are going for over retail these days. I bought my Half Toddler EasyCare Rainbow for over retail and now I'm regretting it. I'm thinking about selling it because I have a canvas toddler Tula and my toddler doesn't get worn often enough anymore to justify two toddler carriers.

Ummmm. What are you guys talking about? What's a stocking and why would one stalk it?

The wrap conversion Tulas are really hard to get. There are about 20 released every 2 weeks. They're posted at 3pm PST and they sell out in seconds. Hence the need to stalk the stocking ;-)

Speaking of Tulas, I was on my computer the entire evening of Valentine's Day and the Tula post about the pink Valentine's Day one never popped up in my newsfeed and now I'm irrationally pissed. I WANT A PINK TULA!!!! I hope they have more within the next month because if not I'm going to have to bite the bullet and just get a different pattern or buy one off the swap because I really do need one soon for DD2.
