We are going to need to buy a bedroom set for my son (bed, dresser, etc) as well as storage for a playroom. Other than Pottery Barn Kids, where do you get kids furniture?
We also didn't buy "kids'" furniture. I chose mid-range lines from Ikea because the pieces are more durable than the lowest lines, but I won't be too upset if they are damaged in the process of being a kid, or if we decide to replace down the line. Our aesthetic is modern/mid-century modern, though, so this works well for us.
Edit: In E's room we have a 2x4 Expedit shelf and the Mandal six-drawer dresser.

Ikea
ETA: DD1 has an Ikea daybed (that they don't sell any longer), a Hemnes dresser and a Trofast. DS has Svarta bunk bed, Malm dresser and 2x4 expedit. DD2 and DD3 have 2 Hemnes dressers.
The dressers in our house came from Gothic Cabinet Craft. Playroom/storage type stuff came from Land of Nod. DD's bed is from IKEA. Our bed is from West Elm.
We have Young America furniture too, bought from local kids' furniture store. It is really well made and has held up so well for DD that we went out and bought the same dresser when it was time to plan for DS.

So, a hotchpotch.
My furniture growing up was from Gothic Cabinet Craft! Loved it! Wanted to take it with me when I moved out, but my parents wouldn't let me, lol.
Same places we buy any other furniture. DS1 has a headboard from Pier One, a couch from Ikea, a bedside table from an antique store/flea market, a dresser that was DH's as a child, and a bookcase from PBK. DS2 has a headboard that we had made, a dresser and bookcases from Ikea, and an armchair from a local furniture place. DS3 still has the nursery furniture, which is all Stanley Young America, plus an Ikea bookcase.
There is a big baby store in our area called Great Beginnings. We got nursery furniture (Romina brand) that we plan to use well beyond the infant/toddler years. We got the convertible kit for the crib and a 6 drawer dresser. We also got two tall bookshelves from IKEA.
Local furniture store (LEA brand). I don't recommend at all. That for the little kids. For my oldest she has my grandmas vintage brass bed & I bought a mid-century modern dresser & vanity/desk at a used furniture store. When DD2 moves into DD1s room we have bunk beds picked out from Restoration Hardware (they have a huge selection of bunks) & dresser from Room & Board.
You may also look at furniture antique places and consignment shops.
My son has a small sofa from the pottery Barn outlet in his room. It is no better quality than the walmart stuff, and might be worse. If I had paid anywhere close to the price they want for it in their catalog, I would be disappointed.
