I'll stand apart from the crowd and say the movie caption is really weird. They're not identical, and aren't in a birthing tub. I don't believe for a second that they have been that peaceful since the moment they were born. They're wearing bracelets already. Come on. They must be aware they've been born. Newborns are sleepy. They're already having their first nap.

It's sweet, but honestly the whole time I was watching I just kept thinking, "how do they not punch each other in the face or poke an eye out in utero?". I never thought about that before. lol
This is cute, but they're clearly fraternal twins so they've never actually been that close to each other until after they were born, what with different amniotic sacs and all.
I think I'm just jealous because my twins were in the nicu and therefore not laying that close together for 8 weeks, but yes as pp said while it's cute the whole premise couldn't be farther from the truth. My twins are the really rare type that were actually that close in utero, I believe statistics say that's 1% of twins. The vast majority including these two were in separate sacs. So while the hugging is really cute, no they never did that before being born, no they don't think they are still inside mom.
This is very sweet, but then it makes me a little sad that they have to be separated now that they're born (learn to sleep in different cribs, etc.).
They may have to be split up at eventually, but the twin thing is strong and eventually, they crave being close again and it's the sweetest thing ever. Exhibit A:
