What are your favorite baby snacks/foods for out and about?
Puffs and Cheerios
Do you always microwave baby food?
No
I'll be making my own at home but what if there is no microwave available? Should I feed baby a pouch?
Not sure I understand. If you're out and about are you bringing frozen cubes with you? I'd just plan to bring other things they can eat that don't need microwaving
1. Is my (newly solids eating) baby constipated if his poop is coming out more like a turd and less like a puree (sorry...)? Not necessarily! No pain or discomfort = good to go
2. When you mix a puree and oatmeal, do you make the oatmeal first with liquid (BM, formula, water) or do you just mix puree with the dry cereal? I mix with bm first, make it thicker though and then added purée.
3. Can a 6mo develop cradle cap after never having it? Or does my baby just have dry scalp? And what can I do about it? Idk
Mine- why does my kid nap longer at daycare then at home? Seriously kid, I need to clean up before we go to a bday party.

I wasn't sure if I should give cold food. I don't think I would like cold broccoli too much but I guess I could bring something that doesn't need to be heated like avocado.
Most of DS poops are little turds now - we call them Hershey kisses. Lol. (He's almost 7 months)
We mix dry oatmeal directly with the purée, just to thicken up the purée.
DS randomly had cradle cap appear around 4 months. We brushed his hair to get off the scales and then scrubbed with the CA baby soap/shampoo we normally use and it was gone. Weird.
We don't usually microwave food since it's at room temperature. When it's been cold bc it was on the fridge, he didn't like it so I did zap it for about 10 seconds to heat it up.
Out and about we just feed him pouch purées with a spoon.
Which leads me to a question - when do you start giving pouches for baby to feed himself?
Another poop question: HJ normally has very soft, slightly more solid than a liquid poop. I changed a diaper this afternoon that was like toothpaste. Is that normal? She typically has 1 poopy diaper a day and it's almost always at daycare, so I'm not sure if this is a normal thing or if it's a sign of an incoming sickness.
Not nursing, just pumping but also FF as needed. Do I need to pump forever since that's what it seems like to fully empty my breasts? Right now I have an electric double pump and I pump for 30 minutes and they still produce milk at that point but I usually stop because I've got things to do and a baby to take care of. Should I be pumping longer? Is there a way to make pumping more efficient? Thanks!

Do you massage while you are pumping? I can usually make it go faster if I massage.

let you baby tell you what he doesn't like. Don't impose your tastes onto him.
I used to massage, but I gave up the ability to do that easily when I started using a hands free pumping bra (Simple Wishes Bra). Since I was still pumping for a half hour even with massage, it made sense to go hands free and not worry about massaging/compressing. Maybe I should try and figure out how to do it with the bra though.
And @ojo, DD is 5.3 weeks. I have supply issues related to, well, a long story. So it's still a matter of trying to get as much as I can unfortunately.
My baby is 4 days old, does he need a bath yet? They bathed him in the hospital.
In Canada, babies are free to get baths any time. Americans seem to wait until the cord falls off. Really, you don't need to bathe a newborn too much - once or twice a week.

I just unzip it a little so I can do it. I use the same bra.

Thanks. Some people have said they don't wear deodorant while BFing because of chemicals. I wear Dove brand and wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy for still wearing it.

If I refrigerate breast milk for a week, can I then stick it in the freezer & it keeps for 3 mos.? I've only ever frozen just pumped milk. But I have a bottle that is 7 days old and no need to use it.

My LC says yes, you can freeze milk after you've refrigerated it.
