Ditto pp, I cut dairy! We had success with the tub of cetafil lotion, slather up right after bath time. On the really bad spots I did a thin lather of 1% cortisone cream + cetafil.
Dairy definitely causes eczema flares in my DS. We used aquaphor and it never seemed to bother my DS, but I would just use the aquaphor and skip other lotions.
Does your pedi have a nurse line? Can you take pics, call and then email them and let them decide about coming in?
If your lotion makes it worse, def discontinue. I have execma as an adult and most lotions/sunscreens are a no-go and it definitely took some playing around to find ones that work for me.
With Caramini we used Aquaphor and topical steroids for flare ups. She has mostly outgrown it now, but it was bad 2-12 months.
I would be worried about the swelling. I would call for this.
DS has ezcema. It started about 6 weeks. We had to stop Aveeno b/c it made it worse. What worked for us: bath every 3 days, dove sensitive wash, aquaphor only.
2 months old is not too early if you have already given your girl some vaccinations. Some say that casein which is the protein in cows milk and is also used in some vaccines can be the start of the problem. But no one knows for sure, I would stop using Aveeno and only use Cetaphil and Aquaphor at night.
