Somebody just gave me this book as a present. I had seen it before but had never read it. My husband and I read it and we thought it was strange and a bit creepy.
Lol I don't even know how we ended up with accopy of it but I also thought it was creepy. J rarely ever wants to read it. It starts out fine but then the rocking him in his house as an adult is just weird.
We got it as a gift. I had no idea what it was about and read it to E when he was about 3 days old. I started bawling. It is creepy and weird (I think it would be a lot less strange if she didn't break into his house), but reminds me of my grandma and I am also a total freak who is deathly afraid of dying.

Yeah it's weird. I tried to like it but couldn't. I Love You All the Time is a much better book about a parent's love. I also really like I Love You Through and Through.
Ah, this IS the one I'm thinking of. CREEPY!!!!! We don't have it, thank God. A friend has it and she was telling us how it made her cry. Then DH started reading it outloud, and well.... we were all in hysterics, but DH and I were later both like 'um, that book is WEIRD'.
@gingersb, "The Paperbag Princess" is also my fave. I bought it for myself before I even had kids.
There are now like eight million munsch books he released after I grew up, so I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do. But the classics will always be dear to me.

My kids love Munsch too. We own 10 or so, but the kids get lots from the library.
I'm not really a fan of that one. It is weird. But the book I can't stand is guess how much I love you. Why is the dad always trying to one-up his kid?
Yes! And can't their names be shorter? I don't want to have to say Little Nutbrown Hare 40@ times in one book.
Creepiest book ever. The first time I read this book was out loud to my son. I've started pre screening books since. The picture of her holding her adult child who is alseep - super creepy.
I always call it creepy as well. I think the sentiment is nice but the breaking in and rocking the adult son pushes it into the weird and creepy category. For whatever reason, my mom loves this book though(this is her go to baby shower book) so we have a copy and the girls like it alright. My mom knows we all think it is a little weird and my siblings and I tease her about her favorite creepy book. She laughs and kind of agrees but still loves it.
