DS is still in his crib-he hasn't shown interest in climbing out (yet) but I know it's coming.
How long did your kid stay in a toddler bed? I'm NOT interested in hearing that you skipped it-we will be doing converting it to a toddler bed. We are probably not going to convert his crib to a full-simply because of space... but we are set on doing the toddler bed.
Right now we don't have any bedding (flat sheet, quilt/comforter) for when we convert the crib, but I'm trying to justify the cost of getting some at this point. He kicks off his blanket every night anyway, so I'm not sure spending money on more bedding would be worth it. We just got a couple fitted crib sheets before he was born and called it a day.

We converted DD's crib to a toddler bed right at 2. She was attempting to climb out even with a sleep sack.
We actually took the toddler rail off of DD's bed today. So it still has the basic crib shape, just nothing on the front. We shall see how it goes. She will be 2.5 at the end of Feb.
The way ours work we did not need any additional bedding, we are still using the crib mattress.

DD1 slept in her toddler bed until she was 5. We used a regular twin sized flatter pillow and a lap sized down comforter. We never bought "toddler" bedding.
DD2 has been in a toddler bed since she started climbing out of her crib at 16/17 months. She is 33 months. She is using her sister's old bedding.
ETA- we are using the same crib sheets since the mattress is the same size.

We did not move my daughter to a toddler bed until she was almost three. She still sleeps in it at 4 and will stay in it until she outgrows it by length due to space. We only use a bottom sheet (Crib sheet) and a comforter, because that is what she likes.
My son is currently climbing out of the crib, but on the advice of a friend who has three kids, and another who is a sleep consultant, I am working on keeping him in the crib. they both claim that if I can get him to stay in the crib for a few weeks, he will stop climbing. I am not ready for him to be in a bed at 21 months. It is too soon.

ugh, good luck. in a perfect world i'd keep him in there til 3-or when we're close to night time PTing. we're inching closer to PTing, i'm guessing by summer we'll be there.
