One of the clerks at work does this shit all the time. From what I gather, you need to either be behind, or make up some cray hardship story. Either way, she regularly has them waive $250 by, like, snapping her fingers at them. What a joke.

Verizon lost me over $50 lol they are hard to get to budge. I'm usually very good at lowering bills. I wanted a price match on a new phone and i was years out of contract. at&t made me an offer that was much better so I switched.that was about 5+ years ago. No regrets.
I suck so hard at negotiating and haggling. If I did this they would be like "No" and I would hang up in a cold sweat. This is DHs department, he's going to talk to them this week. I want a new phone but I want to keep my unlimited data (yes I need unlimited, it is necessary).

Do you have ATT? DH has been able to keep his unlimited data for several phobe switches, BUT he had to do it in-store. Online or over the phone will tell you it's not an option.
We are really getting screwed on our Verizon bill compared to what we could get for the same amount at AT&T or T-Mobile. But we are in contract until October and I doubt they'd negotiate.

Verizon. I told DH that, a guy at my work said he was able to do it. I hope it works, DS cracked my screen and the back falls off/battery falls out all the time
I know that AT&T has an internal customer ranking system. Your score takes a hit every time you call, even if it's not your fault (like to fix a billing error). After so many hits, you're more a liability, and they won't make concessions/exceptions. They want to dump you as a customer.

Let me know how you guys make out. We want new phones soon and don't want to loose the unlimited data.
I was on with AT&T for almost an hour last night, lots of haggling and the offering things that I didn't want/need. After about 45 mins, I told the rep that I was just going to leave.
She came back with $40 off of my service (not changing the service itself) and made us eligible for upgrades 10 months early.

It's kinda messed up.
Interesting! I wonder if Comcast has this. I am surly on their shit list since I have to call once a month due to billing errors.

Yep, I've had my unlimited data for a long time. I even switched from Apple to an Android with no problems. I always get my phones in store because I want to play with it NOW!
I NEED unlimited data, so while all of these plans of "Switch and we will pay your ECF and give you 200x's what your phone is worth and you will only pay $50 for your plan and we will send you a gold nugget" sound amazing, they are only for 450 talk time and 2 GB of data. 2 GB? No.
I kept my unlimited data by buying a phone off craigslist instead of upgrading with vz. I am still on the Americas choice 450 plan. I recently upped my texts from 250 to 1000/month lol. I hope Verizon never makes me get rid of my unlimited data!
We did something similar to keep our unlimited data. We use the wifi from our phones for internet at home (we live in the country, so we would have to pay $50/month for crappy internet. Since we have awesome connection speeds using our wifi hotspot, we prefer to use that), so we will not be happy if they ever take our unlimited data away.
I was a loyal customer with VZW for 12 years and threate.d to switch, and switched in hopes they would lower my bill. They didn't.
I lasted with one of those Walmart type plans for 12 days before switching back.
I am on day 12 of tmobile and it sucks. I have zero reception in my house or at work. It comes and goes when I am out and about. Tech support said it is my building and the engineers said to walk around until i find service. Um I will likely go into labor when I am home alone. Like hell am I going to walk around till i find service to call my husband. Or if I have an emergency when the baby comes. Btw, my coworkers and h have no problems.
Lol, tmobile. I am goingback To verizon.
And i am sorry i messed up the quote. Im on my tmobile phone and the curser randomly jumps around and inserts funky autocorrect words. Ftr, "I" should not be autocorrected to Tchaikovsky.
I think they said they would retain my current account/status etc if I came back within 14 days of canceling, which I did. If you're going back, I would do it within the next day or so.
