OOOOH a brie grilled cheese SOUNDS SO GOOD!
sorry - that's all I've got .
When I was pregnant with my 1st I was STARVING all the time and ate anything not nailed down... I'd have my regular breakfast at home, then I'd go to work & eat half my lunch, then around lunch time I'd eat the other half and usually go out for something small with my friends who had a later lunch (I worked earlier and would eat at my desk) then I'd go home and eat a normal/large dinner! LOL i gained 80 lbs!
This time around I'm not finding myself quite as hungry.
Subway was pretty much a staple for me the last part of my 1st and most of my 2nd trimesters. I also am pgal and was fairly cautious and nervous because of it but damn, all I wanted was Subway!
Hot subs places are my savior. I do miss subway's chipotle sauce though.

I eat deli meat for lunch most every day and today was the first time I've remembered to heat it first. And apparently I'm not supposed to eat from a salad bar, but come on...I've already given up my most favorite thing in the world (beer). Girlfriend's gotta eat.

I've never heard this business about steak. I did have DH cook my filet a bit more on Valentine's Day, but only b/c I've been so queasy and knew a super rare steak wasn't gonna fly.
You can eat soft cheese while pregnant. Where is all this misinformation coming from? The only concern is UNPASTEURIZED soft cheese, which in my experience is really hard to find in the U.S. I've been chowing down on brie, blue cheese and pretty much every dairy product under the sun. See, I'm not making it up: www.webmd.com/baby/news/20031105/pasteurized-soft-cheese-ok-in-pregnancy
Almost everything that is a listeria risk, can be mitigated by heat. So, toast your deli meat sandwich and cook that andouille sausage in the jambalaya and you should be just fine.

Oh, I don't think it is misinformation, I said soft cheese assuming it was to mean unpasteurized soft cheese - hard cheeses are not as much of a worry so I just assumed.
You need to read The Panic-Free Pregnancy and Expecting Better. And then you need to tell your family to quit getting up in your grill. I know everyone's nervous in the first tri (I was too), but pregnancy is not a fatal disease.
Keeping track of all the rules is a pain. I have a list taped to the fridge; but I travel all over for work and never know if a client will have a refrigerator/microwave available for a packed lunch so I end up eating out. It now takes me forever to read a menu and figure what I can have and what I actually want.

SUSHI IS OKAY PEOPLE!!!
The worst thing that can happen if you eat sushi is you get food poisoning that makes you sick, not the baby. And most all sushi in the US is flash frozen first, killing anything potentially icky to begin with. Doubleand, half of most sushi menus these days are cooked anyway.

Most of the sushi warnings are the same for cooked fish and are because of mercury levels. But your right, you run the same risk of getting sick from a bacterium in raw fish that you do getting e. Coli from a hamburger. Just everyone is so insecure with it being raw.
I wish everyone would get off my back when they watch me eat! My birthday is march 8 and I fully intend to eat sushi that night.
