So we have B on some solids now, so we've finally hooked up the diaper sprayer, and I picked up one of those fancy Spray Pals.
I need to talk through the logistics of poop spraying, because I think I'm overcomplicating things.
We have the sprayer hooked up in our downstairs bathroom, as that's the floor we do most diaper changes on. So far, we've sprayed each poop diaper immediately. I'm so glad I got a Spray Pal, because oh God, poop spray everywhere. Where I'm having trouble is what to do once the diaper is sprayed. I have a soaked diaper, and a dripping Spray Pal (with, I assume, poo particles all over it).
Do you put the soaked diaper in the diaper pail and just leave it until you do diapers? Do you wait to spray poo diapers all at once, right before you do a load of diapers? Where do you put the drippy Spray Pal? I have a wet bag for it, but feel kind of gross just folding it up and sticking it in there.
Other questions - Do you clean your Spray Pal at some point? Like sanitize it? Do you try to squeeze some of the water out of the sprayed diaper before tossing it in the diaper pail?
Poop is not plop-able yet, but definitely is no longer the easy-breezy EBM poop we used to deal with...
I typically spray poopy diapers immediately, but if I can't because the kids are getting into something or need me, then I'll wait until a later time (like a few hours later, not days). I keep the top snap on my Spray Pal snapped so that it's easier to assemble. I store it in a small trash can right next to the toilet so it's not dripping all over.
Here's my method - Put the spray pal in the toilet, snap the bottom snap (i tend to skip the middle one), clip the diaper in, spray, put the sprayer down, unclip the diaper, rolling it up to get excess water out and it immediately goes into the wet bag. The wet bag hangs on the back of the bathroom door, but I put it on the floor next to the toilet when I'm spraying, again so that poopy water isn't dripping when I walk them across the room. Then, if the Spray pal looks icky, I'll spray it, unsnap the bottom snap and in it goes into the trash can.
I will clorox wipe the spray pal every once in awhile...it's certainly not in my weekly cleaning rotation. It takes a little while to get the hang of it and figure out the method that works for you.
We keep a zippered wetbag hanging on the back of the bathroom door and I toss wet diapers right into that, or into the wetbag daycare used that day if they're daycare diapers I'm spraying. I don't squeeze the water out, I figure they're designed to be wet anyway.
I fold the outsides together and hold it waaaaay down in the toilet, and spray one side and then the other.

I keep the spray pal in the tub in the bathroom where my sprayer is connected. I always rinse it with the sprayer after use, so it doesn't get gross looking. I don't think I've ever "cleaned it", but its mainly because I never really though to do it. Using a Clorox wipe seems like a great idea.
Once the diaper is sprayed, I generally just use my hands to wring it out, then set it on the edge of the sink. I mostly use flips, so I usually have a least two things to spray. Plopable has made this much easier. I tried squeezing it with the spraypal, but it just seemed awkward to me and left things still pretty wet.
