If yes, did you use it for everyday things or just trips to the zoo, park, etc?
If you don't mind answering, were/are you a SAHM? Would that impact your choice over needing one vs. not?
My kids will be 15-16 months apart. I don't think we will need it for a bit since I enjoyed baby wearing #1 until it became uncomfortable with my growing belly. I plan to wear #2 a lot and push #1 in the single stroller for at least the first 6 months.
At what age do kids generally not want to be in the stroller?

I had a double stroller and am a SAHM. I've had it since DS was born, but it got more use once DD2 and DD3 were born (the youngest 2 are 15 months apart). We used both the double stroller and the sit 'n stand (which a friend gave to us) a lot. My kids aren't bussed to school so we do a lot of walking. Of course they're also great for the zoo, park, etc.
My kids were pretty hit or miss about the stroller. DS hated it forever. DD3 would still ride in it if I let her (she's almost 3 and we only use the stroller for big, crowded places).

Oldest 2 are 15 months apart. We used it for trips to the zoo, walks, lite grocery or target trips. Basically all the time. I'm a working mom. I also used out Beco, Ergo, and Moby, but the double stroller was amazing for ages 2-3 when they like to be in and out a lot, but can't walk any distance at a reasonable speed. They are 3 and 4 now and saw it in the garage today and were excited for warmer weather so we could use it. I assume we'll get another year or two out of it with the oldest 2 before it becomes more practical for the baby and middle child.
I'm a SAHM and I did not have one. My kids are 22 months apart. I wore my youngest for 6 months and used the stroller for the older one. At the end of the 6 months the older one wanted nothing to do with the stroller (until the youngest one was in it).

My first two are 18 months apart. I had a double stroller and was a SAHM. I used the stroller almost daily. DD2 was born in early August and it was too darn hot to wear her all the time. Plus, with 2 kids, I felt like I had a ton of crap to carry around with me. I just found it easier to put both kids in the stroller and shove all their stuff underneath it.

My kids are 2 years exactly (well 2 years and a day) apart. I SAH. I've used my double stroller twice. its winter though. DD1 walks everywhere though (we've done the zoo, aquarium, etc without the double). But she definitely was not ready for this until she turned two. I think we'll still get use out of it this summer, but nowhere near as much use as if #2 was already here last summer when she was 19-22 months. With kids only 15-16 months apart, you definitely need a double IMO.
Oh and I babywear daily (I have way too many babywearing options!), but I still think I'll want a place for both kids to sit this summer especially if its super hot. I love to babywear, but sometimes I still need a break from it and don't want a kid attached to me.

My boys are 20 months apart.
We have the Chicco double stroller since it works with our car seat. We also have a bike carrier that has a wheel attachment to be a double stroller.
I work part time. We go on lots of walks in the neighborhood with our dog. When he was itty bitty I wore him with older DS in the single stroller, but it also got very hot in August, so we did double stroller a lot too. We used the double for places like zoo, museum, etc for the first 15 months or so. Then he preferred to walk since his older brother was.
Now at 3 and 18 months I used the double jogger 3-4 times a week and actually run with them and the dog. But we don't use it much on bigger outings. The 3 year old walks and we bring a single stroller. Or DS2 walks too.
Mine are 19 months apart. We bought a double stroller and a carseat adaptor (The City Select). I love it and wouldn't do it any other way.
I use that stroller for trips, plus dropping the older one off at classes, walking the dog, walking in the hood etc,
I don't stay at home but I'm in Canada so I'm off for a year. Plus we have a nanny, so she will use it when I go back to work.
I do still sometimes put the baby in the ergo and the older one in our Bumbleride, but less now that he's 20 lbs. it's easier just to put them both in the stroller.
DD1 and DS are 14 months apart. DD1 started walking around 10 months and never wanted to be in the stroller so I didn't use one when DS was born. DS and DD2 are also 14 months apart. DS didn't walk well until closer to 13 months so I got a double stroller and used it most of the time. DS and DD2 were also better nappers than DD1 and would both fall asleep in the stroller so I used it even when they were older.

My twins are 3.5 and DS2 is 8 months.
For the twins, we've had three double strollers: Double Snap and Go (which obv you wouldn't need), a Double BOB, and a MacLaren Twin Triumph. I love the BOB and am mediocre on the MacLaren. I wish I got a City Mini instead. I hated the way the MacLaren folded and unfolded.
We used the MacLaren and DSNG for everyday things and the BOB for fairs, the zoo, the beach, long walks, and even sometimes to Target.
My kids stopped wanting to be in the stroller at 2.5 years old/30 months. They were 33 months when DS2 was born, and we have only used a double one time and that was just to see if DS2 fit in it.
Thank you for all the replies! I think I will end up getting one, likely the City Mini Double, but I plan to wait a tiny bit to see how #1 does with walking. I would hate to spend $350+ and not get much use out of it.
I work full time. Kids are 20 months apart. We did get a double stroller. We got one that was compatible with our infant seat and converted to a sit n' stand. Infant seat clicked in the rear seat and toddler sits in front for the first stage, then you can do toddler sitting in the rear facing you and infant in front, or toddler stands facing forward and infant sits in front. Our particular one is huge and bulky, and it doesn't get used a whole lot, but it is SO useful when I do need it. Usually when I need to do shopping with both kids by myself at a mall or any store without the nice 2-infant carts. (Our grocery store, Target, and wholesale clubs have 2-infant seats.) It's a good stroller for the zoo/park/whatever, but since DD has been able to sit up on her own, I prefer the double wagon we have to the stroller. It's a better height for seeing through the fences at the zoo and at a park or playground I can load it full of toys or whatever without anything falling out while DS walks.
I loved wearing my first, and I do a decent amount of babywearing now, but it's really hard sometimes to help the toddler do something while wearing the infant. Admittedly, I'm not comfortable with back carries in public so this is partly my own personal issue. And sometimes you just want to let a sleeping newborn sleep, so clicking in the carseat into the stroller was huge for us.
We only spent $100 on it, and I do feel like we got our money's worth.

Definitely get a stroller. I take a 10 month mat leave each time but I would want one for weekend either way. We live in a very walkable neighbourhood and it's nice to be able to load up the stroller and have the option of the toddler ride along as well if they get tired.

I have had so many strollers ... my kids are each 19 months apart. At first I had a side by side double stroller. It was okay until the oldest was about three, then it was too small. I have since got a Uppa Baby Vista with the second seat attachment (on the front). I love this stroller and use it a lot (grocery store, other shopping, doctor appointments, going to school, etc.) I also have a big double jogger stroller that I have used a ton. It is really large so even my big five year old can sit in it. We have used that for walks and at the beach (rubber tires).

Mine are going to be 21 months apart, but I'm pretty sure I won't get another stroller. I have the Chicco stroller that came with the keyfit. It barely fits in the trunk of my car. I can't imagine trying to fit a double stroller in there.
Although we do like to go for walks in the neighborhood... I'll have to think about how we will manage that, but I will probably just baby wear the youngest.
