I have 7 straw cups and 2 sippy. I send to daycare 2 strawcups of milk and a sippy of water every day. So I need at least 6. And then couple for at home (breakfast and dinner).

Ones we use? We had 5 (2 milk, 3 water) and I just got a 6th but I hate it. Playtex changed their straw sippies and the new ones leak horribly. I'm really annoyed.
Our total number of sippy cups is in the 40 cup range though....

2 Contigo straw cups for milk and 2 Zoli cups for water. There are also 2 Munchkin straw cups in her play area, but they're just there if she wants them.
A lot! Those things can get left behind so easily. We have at least 10 sippys and then a bunch of the take and toss straw cups. He uses a camel back for preschool where I have 3 extra straws and spouts.
4 munchkin soft top sippies 2 tall munchkin straws (1 is missing, love that they are only $2.50 at Target! ) 4 take n toss spout (1 at my moms) 4 take n toss straw 2 thermos foogo
So 16. We don't use the soft top munchkins anymore, and N likes to pull the straw out of the take n toss.
We primarily use the munchkin straw cups, then the foogo.
We probably have about 12 but that is more than we need. I have different kinds for different purposes (ours are all Playtex...clear ones for milk the insulated ones for water, sippy cup for water in bedroom.)
I have a rule that we can only have one brand at time. So far it's been the Playtex straw cups. If those don't work down the road for whatever reason, they're being donated and we'll start fresh with a new brand.
I think we have 4 or 5. Any more than that and it feels like clutter. We run the dishwasher every day or every other day.
I did order a pack of Take & Toss cups for our upcoming vacation.
