H and I haven't had a chance to travel much and never got a honeymoon. We're looking for some small getaway ideas for just the two of us. What are your favorite quick trips, that don't require a passport (just in case we're able to throw something together quick, H doesn't have one yet and mine needs to be renewed)?
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
New Orleans is perfect for a quick getaway. We are only an hour flight away so we are perfectly happy with just the weekend, but there is so much to do (or eat/drink) that you can easily fill a few days. The city has a very European feel (design/architecture) and being able to walk around with your drinks doesn't hurt.

DH and I just went to Charleston for our "babymoon." I loved it. Great food, lots to do and see, plenty of cultural activities like theater and concerts if you're into that, but also a nice place to just relax and not do much but soak in the atmosphere.
