We're getting new flooring soon and I'm in the process of negotiating with two different contractors. One has given me his best pricing and the other has asked to see his competitors quote to try to match or beat it. Is this normal? For some reason it feels weird to me but maybe I'm overthinking it.
I've provided a copy of a quote to a competitor. With my situation they wanted to make sure 1. they were quoting for the same items and 2. I wasn't lying about a competitor just to get a discount.
They ended up meeting that price and I went with them.
