Dd has the matching tall drawers to the picture. They are indestructible and still in great shape. I also had the same type of drawers when I was a child.
My neighbor friend, who was my age, had this set, with the canopy, and I was SO JEALOUS. OMG. I still want a canopy bed. lol
When I was younger I DESPERATELY wanted a canopy bed. I used to ask my mom for one all the time and she always told me I couldn't have one because the ceiling was too low.
Then years later she mocked me for believing her, LOL.
I did, along with the canopy bed. Full strawberry shortcake, top to bottom. Except I didn't have the hutch, I had a miniature cherrywood china cabinet for my dolls.
YES. I had the canopy bed too. I had rainbow brite accessories and bedding for it. I had no all the other little girls had that set too. I totally thought I was a princess.
My sister and I had matching white steel daybeds with gold bed knobs.
I really wanted a canopy so when we each got our own room my mom made a curtain thing that was attached to the ceiling and came down at the two front corners of my bed.
I loved my canopy bed. We got it at a garage sale, and we got rid of it the same way. I "upgraded" to a loft bed, but in hindsight I now know that I should have kept the canopy.
ETA- I just found my old set on CL for $400. My irrational childless self is tempted.
I had my GRANDMOTHER'S set from when she was a kid. I kind of wish we'd kept it now, but it wasn't in the best shape when I upgraded to the Target furniture I still have today.
I had this, too. I had no idea that it was so common. When I was seven or eight, I would watch Martha Stewart's old show on Saturday mornings and then go upstairs to dust and revel in my "french provincial" furniture.
My parents still have the dresser and lingerie chest, but sadly, the bed, night tables, desk, hutch, and dresser. Where did the set come from anyhow? How did it get so popular.
