My neighborhood had their first farmers' market today. It was small, but I thought the vendors were great. I bought zucchini, potatoes, beets, arugula, bread, lamb for some kebabs, and some turkey sausage. My local apiary also had a table, but I didn't need any more honey. There was supposed to be a vendor for orchard fruits but for whatever reason they weren't there today.
Yes. It's open four days a week. We went yesterday and got zucchini (yellow and green), cucumber, sweet onion, ice cream, tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and beets. Vendors there also sell jewelry, soaps, fresh baked goods, jerky, popcorn, flowers, potted herbs, meat, other cheeses, eggs, in-season fruits/veggies, and it seems like eighty zillion other things. I love it!
We have one real close to our house but it's only the first and third Saturday each month and there are ones daily but they are further away. We brought the majority of our veggies yesterday for $9.95 which was awesome.
We have one nearby that is open every Saturday morning. We try to go 2x a month a buy what looks good. My favorites have been romain lettuce, peaches, squash and organic dog treats. My pups love them and the owner is super sweet so I like to support her business.
I'm hoping to get our veggie garden Goin this year. I would love to eventually sell the excess at our farmers market. Sounds like an enjoyable hobby.
We have one on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I buy whatever produce looks good, but my staples are multi-colored carrots, kohlrabi, cucumbers, garlic, onion, sweet corn, and a ton of other things I am forgetting.
Yes, every Saturday in my neighborhood. What we buy depends on the time of the season and what is "in" right now. Yesterday, I bought raspberries, cherries, peaches, kale, zucchini, green beans, blueberries and lettuce. M
Non-seasonal items they have are honey, yogurt, cured meats, bread/baked goods and cheese.
There are several near me. I usually just get some fruits & veggies but my farmer's market also has coffee, meat, fish, plants, bagels/breads, jewelry, cheese, etc.
We have several, the largest one is downtown and it takes a couple of hours to get through. I have a routine - I buy an iced latte from the coffee shop, and then make my way down each block. I buy bread from a local bakery, dog treats, something for breakfast, then I buy whatever produce looks good or is on my list. So far it's been mostly asparagus, green onions, and radishes. I haven't been for a few weeks because the heatwave has been horrible. I also buy salsa from a local vendor and some fresh flowers for the house. I scope out the artists - jewelry, sculptures, paintings, crafty stuff - and occasionally pick a little something up from them, too.
We have a great one that is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are a ton of other markets around town, so i could probably find one every day of the week if i wanted too.
I have a large garden myself, so i only buy things that I don't grow. Like asparagus, watermelon, apples, some hot peppers, ect. Also some breads and jams.
Yes, the one closest to me is on Wed &'Sat but here are many others on anyday of the week. I only buy veggies/fruit. There are lots of breads, prepared foods, some meats/fish, etc but I stay clear of those.
Yes, but I'm not very impressed with it. Maybe it's because I used to work at one in high school, but I don't think the selection is great, and I can tell most of it hasn't been grown locally. It's too hot-house perfect.
I live across the street from one. DH and I go almost every Saturday. We usually buy fruits and veggies. Sometimes we'll get beef or lamb. This week we bout zucchini, butternut squash, peaches, honeydew melon and a couple of sweet onions. I wanted to stop by the candle vendor but DH was getting grumpy b/c it was so hot!
We have several within a 10-mile radius, so it depends on what I have time for, LOL. We also have a farmstand 5 minutes from our house. I get whatever's in season--right now the farmstand has berries, and I think they're about to get corn and tomatoes. I need to get out to a few of the bigger farmers markets to pick up stuff like bread and maybe eggs and meat.
I was psyched that our last town (very small) had a nice one too. I used to get bread, syrup, and tons of produce.

Yes, but it isn't very good. There are only a few vendors and the selection isn't great. There's another one about 20 minutes from here in a larger city that I'd like to check out sometime.
There are a ton in our metro area but we don't live very close to any of them. The one we go to the most is about 15 minutes away. We typically buy bread, cheese, tomatoes, and whatever other produce looks good. They also sale lamb, beef, chicken, buffalo, eggs, milk, plants, baked goods, soaps, and some fabric items like throws and pot holders.
yep! ours is on sundays, and we go almost every week when we're in town. today we got ginger beer, asparagus, beets, kale, carrots, raspberries, and strawberries.
Yes, we have a ton of farmers' markets. The one in my town is held on Saturdays, there are just under a dozen vendors - organic and conventional farms, honey, meat, baked goods, and a bagel shop come. There's usually some sort of music too. Most towns have a once a week market from May - October.
There's a year round market nearby too and many of the local farms have farm stores that are open either seasonally or year round. We have one within a long walk/bike ride from our house and another that's on MH's way home from work. I have a farm stand near one of my offices that I'll stop at every now and again.
We went to the one in our town on Saturday and got a free cucumber since it was so hot. We grabbed some corn, green beans, peppers, potatoes, and flowers. Friday night, MH stopped at the farm stand and grabbed some fresh local eggs, zucchini, and tomatoes. I love going to the farmers' market.
The amish/menonites come and sell bread and pasta.
That reminds me - in late summer and early fall, I sometimes buy pumpkin bread from the Mennonite ladies. One year I had to cut myself off from buying it for the rest of the season because we had had it so much. My other non-meat-or-produce purchases sometimes include made-to-order doughnuts and creeps, and while-you-wait knife sharpening services.
