My mom and I laughed so hard we cried. I immediately bought the soundtrack and have listened to it ad nauseum (according to my H lol). Love it, can't recommend it enough.
I think it's a great show, and it's especially awesome or an 18 year old to see it (if only to see the effects of the influence of global religions and related repercussions/falsities within their dogma)
My DH and I went with another couple, and the guy in the other couple is not a Broadway fan at all, but he loved it. As long as you're okay with your teen hearing the f-bomb a LOT (I think even one of the character's name is like "General Butt-Fucking Naked"), it's a funny one.
It was ok for me. I think it might have been too hyped up and thus my expectations were really high. I thought parts were funny, but I didn't think it was absolutely hilarious.
That being said, I didn't hate it. I think you'd be fine to bring the teen.
My DH would have loved it but I went with my sister and her girl friends. I thought it was hilarious. There is definitely sexual humor but no nudity or anything. I would not have been comfortable watching this with my Mom when I was 18 (but I was a bit prude/naïve.) I am sure an 18 year old today would be fine.
I LOVED it, but it's not for the faint of heart. It is religious satire and extremely offensive, just my cup of tea. But your MIL may be scarred for life.
loved it! But, they sing really fast so I went back to the hotel and looked up the text because I felt like I'd missed something and wished I had read the play in advance. That said, it was great.

Loved it, laughed until I cried. I like listening to the soundtrack while I run. Definately not what you would think of as running music but I always laugh while listening to it and it distracts from the boredom of long runs.
