For those who know, is Spring generally the big time of year that folks buy all the makeups? I'm wondering because my elliptical machine gossip mags have all contained pages of makeup stuff in the past couple of weeks, which is unusual, and I'm noticing a lot of sold-out stock on makeup sites.
Wait? Didn't you read that article? Women don't like makeup anymore. HTH.
Hahahahahahahahahah.
Which is awesome because that makes all of us rebels, which makes us totally punk. Anarchy in the CEP!
I have GOT to find something to deal with this oil slick of a face I have. Today I'm using my Stay Matte powder under my Loreal anti-aging foundation, then topped it off with the sample of Porefessional Agent Zero Shine I had and I still look like I could cut our dependence on foreign oil by half. LOL
In your picture the other day, your skin looked flawless!
But I've heard the Tarte products -- specifically, the ones that have the Amazonian Clay formation as opposed to the ones with marajuca oil -- are great for oily skin.
Thanks! That was about five minutes after I had done my makeup though. LOL It was probably about 11am today before I noticed my face melting. LOL I will look into the Tarte products.

Everyone has been having sales, so somewhat.
I think everyone really starts shopping after the winter though.
I took a sick day today but I need to go to the grocery store. I'm trying to figure out what makeup to wear. I thinking powder, a little eyeshadow, mascara, and lipstick. A month ago my only thought would have been which shirt covers my butt in leggings and whether or not my hair would fit into a hat. This thread has truly changed my life!

I didn't want to say anything until it got really humid, as that will be the true test, however I have been using NYX's blotting powder at lunch time on my t zone and it works fantastically. Just once at lunch and I'm back to matte for the rest of the day. The true test will be in July and August when it's 100% humid.
Speaking of sales, Ulta has a lot going on -- a bunch of drug store stuff (including Real Techniques and the Yes To line) is buy one get one 50% off, or buy 2 get one free.
I am plotting an Afterglo purchase for later this week. I can no longer resist its allure!

Lol I know! My headache is raging today, I put on the CC cream, mascara and lip balm because that's all I could handle. I felt utterly naked and whenever I looked in the mirror I did a double take. I did notice that whatever little contouring I've been doing was making a difference. My extra weight was really showing today.
Ok, I can't wade through all this. I am so sure this is a repeat. I am planning on a full face of makeup tomorrow. (I have an interview, but PLEASE! It's not a big deal -- it's a placement service. I don't wanna talk about it!)
I don't have any special product for my brows. I probably should...but I don't. I just got my brows waxed on Saturday, so I'm good there...I don't really have to fill in..they're not sparse. How do I groom them? With what?

WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!
comb them
but no one will notice if you don't unless you have Andy Rooney eyebrows

I don't know if has been mentioned yet, but you can use toilet covers to blot with. My old coworker used to hilariously collect and use them.

Walgrems is open 24/7. You can get one of those for a dollar. However, a regular comb could work in a pinch.

Just smooth them down with your finger and use a little matte eye shadow in them if you want.
Okay ladies, help me out. I have issues with red cheeks, and I can NOT find a foundation to cover the issue. I have the Chanel stuff that IIOY (I think?) raved about. It's lovely, smells great, feels great on... doesn't cover the red. MUFE doesn't cover the red. CC cream DEFINITELY doesn't. I got some IT Bye Bye Redness, and that DOES cover the red... but it's too dark. My cheeks look tanned.
Help! Tarte Amazon Clay foundation, maybe? Or MAC? I plan to take the Chanel back - I love it, other than the fact that it's just too sheer. Or is there some trick that others have used that might help?

I've used a few products to cover redness with pretty good success.
the green smashbox primer stila one step correct and the stila set and correct
someone on ML suggested something I haven't tried. Maybe I can find the post. Might have been something from IT Edit: --- nevermind it was the Bye Bye Redness you mentioned. But a plus the search function worked.

I use matte eyeshadow (usually two shades from my Naked Basics palette) and then go over it with a $1 tube of ELF clear eyebrow gel/mascara.

I've tried the Stila One Step (meh) and the Smashbox in green - it works great as a primer, but still, the redness is there. It's annoying.

I have redness too, and I've been thinking about the Loreal green primer (my guess is it's a dupe to the smashbox) but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
I use the elf HD powder in yellow, under foundation (the Wayne Goss method!) which seems to help a LOT... so it's moisturize, powder, foundation... the yellow powder really makes a difference, but I kind of don't like it over foundation as, I dunno, there's something about it on top I don't like. But, it does bring down the red a TON.
there's talk of the Ben Nye Banana Powder... I'm tempted to try it when the elf is gone, but just looking at it, it's nowhere near as yellow, which might be a good or bad thing.

OK I bought I bunch of cheapo stuff today and I'm kind of in love with all of it!
2 Wet n Wild lipsticks... Purty Persimmon and Bare It All. I was worried that the PP would be too close to the Revlon Snow Peach, but they're really pretty different. The PP is much more orange, while the SP is pinker. Bare It All is a great nude shade, with enough tone to it so you don't look freaky/dead... it's a slightly mauve-y taupe.
Was at the dollar store, and picked up a Physicians Formula Baked Eyeshadow Trio (for a BUCK)...
in applying them dry, they're nice. They're fairly well pigmented and the colors are cool (pinky-peach, grey, and black). They're matte but not drab. But when applying them wet, holysmoke!, they're kind of fantastic. I've only done them on my arm, will do an eye with them tomorrow, but I think I found something great!
Was at another junk store and came across these liquid-to-powder eyeshadows from Hard Candy (which I think is usually exclusive to WalMart).
they're really kind of great. The pigmentation's there, and they seem to stay on pretty well... another thing I have to try out on actual eyes, but super fun!

I have a skin condition on my chin and around my mouth that flares and gets really red. I have tried all the green correcting products and they don't touch it.
I recently tried the MAC prep & prime yellow CC primer and it helps. There is one foundation and concealer that work for me, but it's expensive. It's the Hourglass Immaculate Foundation and the Hourglass concealer. I'm starting to only use it during the flare ups because it's so expensive, but it's the best foundations I have used. It is the only one that combats my oiliness too. The foundation comes in colors with yellow or pink undertones and I get my color with yellow undertones.
eta - I should add that there are people that are unimpressed by Hourglass, but I think I like it so much because of the redness issue.

I'm sorry it doesn't work for you! It's definitely sheer, which is a big part of the reason I like it. I actually have a lot of natural pink in my cheeks that I love and don't want to cover, and the coverage of even that is a bit too much for me, so clearly sheer is my thing.
Definitely take it back if it doesn't work; it's too expensive to keep if you aren't happy.
Have you looked up any tutorials for covering redness?
ETA: I'm dying to try the Hourglass Inmaculate that ajj recommends because it gets rave reviews for covering oily skin. I don't know if it doesn't anything for redness.
Ok, repeat question I'm sure. What to use to cover the bags/dark circles under your eyes. Rest and cucumbers are not an option. I've heard of using Preparation H, but that stuff stinks! Bonus points for brands that don't test on animals

Drink more water (no, seriously)
Concealer is definitely a hit or miss. I picked up NYX's HD concealer last week and so far I like it. No creasing, definitely concealing and brightens.
ETA: I don't have mega dark circles or bags, I felt like I should qualify that.

1. There seems to be widespread agreement that concealers in general suck.
2. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind is liked by many as a good drug store option.
