We've concluded that UD's black liner sucks. What's good? I hear good things about MAC but I would like an item available at Sephora (where I have a coupon) or Ulta (for when I finally pull the afterglo trigger and need things to get to free shipping).
Has anyone tried Tarte's?
Is there a drugstore liner that won't end up all over within 1 hour?
The Maybelline gel liner in the little pot. The brush is even good. Seriously, I love this stuff so much.

I'm so behind in reading this thread! Darn life getting in the way.
ESF I really like the Lancôme art liner, it's liquid but doesn't budge. Pricey though. Maybe on one of your sephora runs you could ask to try it out before buying?
I know you said no MAC, but if nothing else works for you I'd try them. My favorite is their gel liners.

I'm not sure when it ends, but yes, there are many beauty products included. I just bought some brush head refills for my clarisonic and they were marked down.

I want to try this! I don't know why, but I'm scared of the gel. I need to just get it.
i have been using the Stila Stay All Day Liquid. I like it, but it seems to run out fast and I want something cheaper.

I kind of was too but it's SO easy. Way better than liquid liners and easier than pencil for doing winged liner or a cat eye. It is awesome and anyone searching for black liner needs to try it.

I believe it ended at midnight last night.
ESF - another very inexpensive option if you want a gel liner is Essence gel liner at Ulta. It costs $4 and gets rave reviews in the blogosphere for quality/value for the money. My Ulta doesn't have it so I asked my mom to get some at hers and bring it up when she visits this week, although you can order it online, too. ETA: Essence gel eye liner
I was looking at those earlier. I would have been tempted if I didn't already own several of the brushes.
I don't have the pencil brush, tapered powder brush, or the flat top and tapered kabuki.
I was originally looking at the essential Make Me Classy kit. I might still work out the angled blush brush. I wouldn't use the foundation brush, or the powder brush in that kit though. So the JH kit seemed like a good fit. Plus it was cheaper.
Luckily I live close to the Sigma store at the Mall of America. So I can just go in and buy the singles if needed.
You are lucky. I was googling Sigma stores the other day because I would love to be able to inspect all of this stuff first-hand.
I'm not sure how I feel about the tapered kabuki and highlighter brushes. I always worry that uses big brushes for liquid products has the potential to simply swipe the product off my face. These are synthetic fibers, though, yes?

I always need to set pencil eyeliners with shadow or they end up all over the place. Lately I've been in love with Bobbie Brown's gel liner because it's holds really well and doesn't need to be set. Sometimes I still use powder just to even out my line because straight lines aren't my strong point, but it's not necessary.
I tried Lollitint twice - on cheeks and lips. My verdict is that I really like it on my lips, but not really on my cheeks. So that little sample will probably last me a while

Beauty is included in the anniversary sale. MAC usually does some Nordstrom exclusive sets that I always want, but never buy. A lot of the other brands will do similar discounted sets or gifts with purchase.

Yeah they usually have a lot of beauty deals. It's a great time to stock up on stuff too because they will have giant sizes of products for super cheap special for the anniversary sale.
I'm in The-middle-of-nowhere-California for Easter and I found a beautiful display in Wallgreens of LEGACY REVLON lipsticks. Completely empty. BUT THEY DO EXIST! They also had Real Technique brushes, for the person asking if drugstores carried them. Apparently some Wallgreens do!
I know I'm really late to the game on this, but I love the Chocolate Bar Palette! I used Strawberry Bon Bon today and it is amazing! How does it look so pink in the case and so pretty on? I loved the look I did yesterday, too. They are such great colors, but not too drastic.

Right?? It's like magic. I looked this up after the first time I used it and it is not available individually. I may cry if this color is ever discontinued completely.

is regular stuff on sale too (foundation, whatever) during that time, or is it just the special giant sizes and special edition products?

I can't speak to other sales, but this one was on almost all makeup, including standard sizes.
PSA: did you know that Zappos carries a ton of beauty items? This is dangerous as there is no free shipping minimum that I'm aware of.
While they carry a lot of Lorac stuff, alas, they do not carry the Afterglo palette.
There is also a Summerglo palette on Lorac's website and on sale at Kohl's, but from what I can tell, it's the same thing just with the colors in a different order.

I don't think they're the same colors, actually... I compared the two big time. Summer Glo had some colors After doesn't... The colors, when you look at them one at a time, are more muted. And no fantastic orange.

Yeah I looked at the summerglo palette on lorac's website the other day ( couldn't find afterglo on their website) and I thought it was a lot more muted looking than afterglo

I have GOT to find something to deal with this oil slick of a face I have. Today I'm using my Stay Matte powder under my Loreal anti-aging foundation, then topped it off with the sample of Porefessional Agent Zero Shine I had and I still look like I could cut our dependence on foreign oil by half. LOL

In your picture the other day, your skin looked flawless!
But I've heard the Tarte products -- specifically, the ones that have the Amazonian Clay formation as opposed to the ones with marajuca oil -- are great for oily skin.
For those who know, is Spring generally the big time of year that folks buy all the makeups? I'm wondering because my elliptical machine gossip mags have all contained pages of makeup stuff in the past couple of weeks, which is unusual, and I'm noticing a lot of sold-out stock on makeup sites.

Wait? Didn't you read that article? Women don't like makeup anymore. HTH.
