Anyone else gaining slowly? I'm only up 3lbs at 19 weeks. I'm petite to begin with so I'm in the typical 25-35 range. OB doesn't seem concerned yet but at this part in my last pregnancy I was up 12lbs. I have my anatomy scan coming up and I'm so scared to get bad news. Anyone relate?

Hi. I'm 17 weeks and 3 days and so far haven't gained any weight. I lost 10 in my first trimester due to morning sickness. And I stated to gain that back. But then was put on the gestational diabetes diet and am back down a few pounds. I'm not petite and had some extra padding prior to getting pregnant. But had imagined I would have gained something by now. So far my dr. hasn't said anything about my weight (minus the initial conversation about how much to to gain). I plan on asking her directly about it at my next appointment.
Since your OB isn't concerned, I would try not to worry. Though I know that is easier said than done. Can you call for more reassurance?
I had gained about 4lbs by 20 weeks (after dropping 5lbs in the first tri). At my a/s baby was totally happy and nearly a pound. I asked my doctor about slow weight gain and she said it is completely normal and nothing to worry about. She reassured me that a lot of people don't start gaining until the second half of pregnancy.
Of course, then I had a little growth spurt and put on 6 pounds in the next 4 weeks. Now I'm not so worried about slow weight gain!
I'm also what my OB dubbed a "slow grower." Barely anything to date (roughly four pounds at 20w), but I'll likely get big fast during the third trimester. Can't wait...
Thank you for all of theE reassuring posts! I am trying not to worry but we all know how that goes...
I feel the same way (trying not to worry, but inevitably worrying anyways). It's definitely been a change for me to step on the scale and be concerned it's not going up!
i'm about 6 pounds below where i was when i got my BFP. i lost about 12 pounds and have gained about half of it back. i'm 18 weeks today. my doctor just says things like "looks like your weight is holding steady" and doesn't say much else so i figure it's fine.

yeah when i got on the scale last i was shocked it had gone down, and almost mad about it - which is the opposite of what i was expecting (i've been eating way more lately and not exactly the most healthy food so figured it had to have gone up), and the opposite of my reaction any other time in my life!
I didn't start gaining until 19w and only 3.5 lbs then. Between wks 23-27 I gained 12 (this was over Christmas and I ate entirely too much food for 4 weeks ). If your doctor isn't worried, don't stress over it!

I am down 6 lbs at 21 weeks, but I was also overweight prior to pregnancy. When I was pregnant with DD, I lost a lot up to 18 weeks due to morning sickness, but the last 6 weeks or so I started putting on a lot of weight and gained back all I had lost. My weight gain overall was fine. DD was born at a healthy weight and my anatomy scan with this pregnancy went well.
