Thank you ladies for all the inspiration and the pep talk. We finally started painting our kitchen cabinets. It is so much work but we are loving what we're seeing so far.
Here's a sneak peek of the before & after on the cabinet doors. More pics in blog if anyone's interested.
Looks great! How are you doing it? Just sanding, painting, etc or did you pick the cabinet transformations kit?
I didn't end up using the kit. I showed a pic of our kitchen to the lady at Lowe's and she said it would have taken three large kits to do our kitchen! So we went the old fashion way of the gel stripper, priming and painting.

Gotcha. How was the stipping process (that sounds dirty )? I think we are planning on doing the kit but I am just a little hesitant so if what you are doing isn't terrible that might be the better bet.
The stripping process actually really wasn't that bad. We used a gel stripper, applied a thick layer, wait about 15 minutes and just went through with a puddy knife. It got a lot of the varnish off. We then used mineral spirit to clean off the cabinet then wiped it clean for the primer. We did sand a little in spots after we applied the primer but that was about it.
Last summer we painted out master bath's cabinets and we sanded everything and that took forever and I knew I didn't want to do that again. So the gel stripper is definitely the way to go!

You picked the PERFECT color!! "Swiss Coffee" is the paint swatch that matched our crib and is almost exactly the same shade as rustoleum's famed "heirloom white"...goes well with EVERYTHING!!! Nice job. It's going to look amazing!
