When H was a kid, they had rabbits. They had to raise them, kill them, skin them, then eat them for a school project. Small town in Texas.....just, IDK.
I don't actually like rabbit, though it know many folks who do. The backyard thing is a little weird, until I remember that as soon as our chickens stop laying, they'll become dinner themselves. Hmm.
I would try rabbit, absolutely. H's story always skeeves me out, though. I feel bad that he and his brother had to kill them, then skin them. I could not imagine doing that.
My dad was a hunter, we had rabbit, squirrel, quail, pheasant, etc. I do not like any of it, I just do not like the taste at all and my mom knew how to fix it correctly to take the "game" taste out, I still just didn't like it.
Sorry to hijack your thread, but hey daisybuchannan did you end up going out? How is your son feeling? (I really hope you went out!!)
Aw, thanks for thinking of us
C made the decision for us by spiking another temp early in the day. He would go from totally fine, dancing, laughing, etc. to screaming and crying. Totally not like himself.
Our day has been...interesting, lol. Thankfully he went down very easily tonight (after not napping for any significant time today).

My dad is a hunter and I've eaten all kinds of animals, bears, moose, caribou, deer, etc.. But I had a pet bunny as a kid and he knows better. I also eat at great restaurants around the world and refuse to try rabbit. I just can't do it.
