I had a Delta with DD and it was very sturdy as a toddler bed. It held up great and I plan on using it again. I think they are around the same price range as the Graco Lauren.
It's great. Originally we were going to convert it to a toddler bed for her but then realized we could buy a wood toddler bed from walmart for $50 which is cheaper than a second crib so we'll use the gulliver for this baby and transfer Matilda to the toddler bed when the baby is out of our room.
We got the Delta Bentley S 4-in-1 crib from Target. It seems ver solid and everything I read said that it was very sturdy. Obviously we haven't used it yet but we are very happy with it. Attachment Deleted
I got a basic white one from BRU for like $200 or less. It held up great, though it was part of the Great Recall and we needed to install a special metal part to make the drop side stay put. We'll be using it again. Ooh, DD used it as a toddler bed for about a year and it was fine!

Love our Stanley Young America crib. DD is using it as a toddler bed right now. We just bought her a new bed (also YA) so we can covert it back to a crib for #2. We plan to turn it into a full size bed when the time comes.

It is made in the USA and Greenguard certified.
Us, too. Can't speak to it's durability since this is our first kiddo, but it got great reviews.
If our boy is still a boy on Wednesday (our a/s), we'll be going with either the Babyletto Modo or Babyletto Harlow. Babyletto got decent reviews in Baby Bargains and on Amazon, and they're half the price of similar cribs from Oeuf et al. I particularly liked that one of the reviews said they are short-people friendly. That is always a concern for me, LOL.

In a couple of weeks we are going to a furniture about 3 hours away to look at this brand. Did you think the price was reasonable or was it pretty cashy? Anything else I should know when looking at this brand of crib.
ETA did the conversion kit come with it or did you have to pay extra?
I didn't turn anything into a bed. We bought DD an IKEA bed when she was ready and will use the crib again for baby #2. Even though DD outgrew her crib 4 years ago, she is still in the IKEA bed. So, overall, less money to invest in an IKEA bed than in a new crib. I never even looked at convertible cribs.

Butting in here, but our YA crib, mattress, toddler conversion kit, and low/long dresser were about $1700 total. All the pieces are very heavy and the dresser drawers have soft close hinges. The dresser drawers also are dovetailed and had some other nice H had been looking for.
Other advice I would add is to make sure you know what kind of wood the pieces are made of. We wanted to stay away from softer woods that scratch easily so it stays looking nice as long as possible.
Us, too, but it's still in a box. We're planning to put it together this weekend!
Which one did you get? H said it was easy to put together, so that's good
We went back and forth between the Kalani and the Emily, and ended up with the Emily (even though I'm paranoid about baby parts getting stuck in the gap at the top of the rails) because it was lighter and cheaper. Yep, that's just the kind of parent I plan to be, baby, so get used to it!

We bought it at Furnitureland South which does have discounted prices. We paid about $650 for the crib in 2011. Not sure what MSRP was at the time. The toddler kit did cost extra (I think maybe $150). Given that it is made in the usa and greenguard certified, I think the price we paid was reasonable. So I would potentially shop around if you like it to see what type of price you can get. Overall the furniture is very solid (we have a dresser and night stand as well) and has held up well. I assume you have checked out the YA website?
To give you a comparison we just bought DD the All Seasons Antiquity Bed and paid $807 for it. On the Stanley site MSPR is listed as $1099, although right now it has a sale price of $929.

I hope that helps. Good luck with your shopping.
Thanks! I live in Illinois and the only store that sells it around me is Goods Furniture so hopefully they will have some sale prices.
My husband seems concerned that the Graco Lauren won't be sturdy enough to turn into a bed?
We have a Graco Lauren for my almost 22 month old and it is very sturdy. She is really hard on it because she rocks herself to sleep every night and it has held up well. I am due with twins in April and bought 2 more. No complaints at all for a $150 crib!
